yes, Sasuke is his friend- But Naruto only existence is just to save Sasuke, Naruto still has his dreams of being Hokage, of helping other, proving to others he isn't weak
Saving Sasuke doesn't define Naruto. It shows he is a good friend, but like i showed his existence is outside

Bingo, just proved my point, Hinata's existence is not only to be with Naruto, but to be acknowledged by his clan, because as you stated in your OP, she was the underdog of her clan.

So now stop using that argument against her.

Ah I see. I read it out of context since I just came back into this thread.

Though it's kinda true. I really wish Hinata didn't have to think about Naruto every single time she appears on panel. It gives off the impression that she is a satellite character, when there could be so much more done with her, especially pertaining to her role within the Hyuga.

I was talking being the underdog in regards of romance O_O Naruto had eyes for Sakura- people rooted for Hinata because Naruto overpassed her for a long time and people wanted Naruto to notice her. She was the underdog in that regard.
She is the princess/err heir of the Hyuga clan- whats so underdog about that?

But she still needs a personality- her personality basically revolved around her being shy- take that away and we don't have Hinata's personality anymore.
Naruto has gotten growth and by the end of this series he grew into a strong shinobi- but doesn't mean Kishi isn't going to take away Naruto being a goofball, a bit of a pervert, jokester, postive, understanding.

But thats basically reducing her to romance fodder then- and i don't think reflects very well for her character for her only purpose to be with naruto-
It shows she can't stand on her own as a character.

Hinata is still shy, her unconditional love for most things is the only thing that makes her seem perfect.

She has never relied completely on naruto, her common sense didnt allow it. Especially now. If naruto died for example.

She became independent enough to move on, im sure she wouldnt love him any less, or fall in love again, but she easily stands as an independent character, her love has never been blind. She didnt become strong to impress naruto, she became strong to impress her father and show everyone how far she has come, do you think she would let that go just because naruto died?

Ill use any ninja for example, they will die for the village, but if the village is destroyed, its not like they just wither away, of course in their hearts konoha will always be their village, they simply carry it in their hearts and continue whatever konoha's ideals where.

This is her mentality, she stole naruto's ninja way, thats all she needs to survive his death. Anything else would be go against Hinata's ideals.


She can stand alone, but her development is done IMO.

I now see in that light it is like Hinata /Naruo Hanaabi/Sasuke in a sense- if you get what i mean.

I didn't even remember her father calling her looser. Thats pretty tough.

Whatever is said, I don't believe Hinata is pairing fodder. The Hyuga clan is due for some development soon, and that's when she'll come in to the story, and NOT as a pairing foddder.
