I don't think Hinata sucks or anything, I actually like her, in spite of she was treated in the manga as a kunoichi without talent and kind of abandoned by her own father, but I do think at this point it's fair to say that she has been outclassed by Sakura when it comes to skills in battle...
FTR, you can say some people fapp Sakura too much in other threads, overhyping her feats and powers, and that happens to every character actually, but since Sakura is the most hated character on the base, other people tend to forget or don't mind about her feats, hating and bashing her even when she is useful to the team or the alliance.

The whole schpeel on her abilities doesn't change much. She still has to land a hit point-blank. Sakura's punch cover a radius far wider than the given range Hinata can use her attacks.
