I think Hinata has shown an obvious degree of growth, both mentally (put her life on the line? yea, counts), and physically (skills and umm dem boobs), in the series. As for being a final protagonist: don't think so. As of right now, her restrained, and subdued personality make for anything but captivating (in comparison to the more dynamic characters out their). The only way I see it happening is if Kishi decides to change her personality overnight.

Times Change Hinata rising and Sakura falling, Hinata was always Kishi choice as Naruto's mate, but changing Her from shy to an aggressive confident person is a challenge and as the catalyst for this was Naruto Himself both Naruto and Hinata have change from season 1 so long ago in Manga and in fillers, with every Naruto power up and character development, their was Hinata trying to mach His move. Admiration has turn to love. Naruto and Hinata have grown separately now it looks like they will grow together.

Calm yourself my good man, lest someone mistakes you for a Hinata fanatic
Oh wait...

OT: No. The same exact thread has been made over and over again in the past, and it has been explained multiple times why Hinata will not be a final protagonist, nor the main heroine. She is a great supporting character, but that's all she is: a supporting character.

Well, we've seen Kishi pull things out of his butt before, and as someone pointed out, Hinata was his first preference. I'm sure if he really wanted to, he could shift even more value to Hinata, then currently exists (which has gone up moderately). Again, difficult, considering her demeanor, but not unfeasible.

Are you referring back to that interview? It's been said before, but the actual translation was along the lines of:
"You say Hinata, Hinata. I say no, she's not Hinata."
In reality, Kishimoto felt annoyed at the Hinata fans and defended Sakura's status as heroine, stating that: "From here on out, she's ready to show it."

Hm, what do you say we make a bet right now? If Hinata does indeed get a power-up, is given a greater role, and overtakes Sakura as heroine, then I will personally admit inferiority and proclaim you as having superior judgement. If Hinata's role remains the same, and Kishi places focus on Sakura's development by the series end, then I get to compile a list of quotes of all the statements you made as an obvious fanboy and post them for you to reflect upon. ;)

sure why not, but id like to make something clear.

Both the sharingan and byakygan are incomplete eyes, they're not perfect, but the rennigan is, hence why it has no greater from, because it is the greatest form of dojutsu.

if the sharingan, an incomplete eye, can have higher forms and be reverse engineered back to its original form, then so can the byakugan. Also, with hinata having a bigger role now (I seriously don't see kishi putting her back into the shadows), not to mention kishi saying there'll be hyuga clan development in 2013, its pretty much a given hinata is gonna unlock a second stage of the byakugan.

Seems probable. And in the same interview you are referring to, Kishi also mentioned "God's Seat," which can be translated as meaning Sakura. I think I posted this before, but:

SA of Sakura derives from SA NO KAMI (田の神) or SAGAMI (田神), which is the traditional God of the Rice Fields
KURA of Sakura means seat, storehouse or vessel.
In other words, SAKURA originally meant SEAT OF THE GOD OF THE RICE FIELDS.

Kishimoto may even have said Sakura directly, but perhaps the words were then mistranslated in a translation program, as often happens with names.

Add this on to what Kishi said in his interviews:
"I will focus on Kakashi, then Sakura after that."
This didn't happen immediately, and months later he apologized:
"I got busy, but I promise Kakashi's year is coming."
And finally in 2012 we were presented with the Obito/Kakashi conflict. Is it not almost a given, then, that Sakura will also be given major development next?

And if both Hinata and Sakura get development, who wins the bet lol?

Tbh, I do want Sakura to get development, maybe a sage mode or the ability to grow lost body parts like piccolo(that last one seems kinda creepy), Ts just that I want hinata and the hyakugan to get an upgrade more than she does.

That's kinda what I envisioned a Slug Sage mode, if it exists, to include: the ability to immediately regenerate and/or reattach body parts.
And I suppose we'll see soon enough what that Hyuuga development will be about. Here's to hoping for the best :D
