Everything you said is probably right. When I was talking about them being "related" I was talking about the way naruto is to asura, or sasuke to indra(and their connection to the whole sage thing) I still fail to see how hinata is more related to kaguya than any other hyuuga could possibly be.

The most logical reincarnation Hinata would be is some child of Hagoromo's brother provided that child existed. The only one of the known characters is Kaguya, but this could go for basically any female Hyuga, Uchiha, Senju, or Uzumaki assuming the heritage is accurate.
