Well, first, tell me what you know about lightning jutsu. How can it be used? What is it strong to? What is it weak to?

 

[Demosthenes]

I know that Lightning Techniques are mainly offensive, though there are some defense techniques, such as the Raikage's Lightning Armor. Lightning techniques can be used in conjunction with water techniques to make an effective combination attack. As water easily conducts lightning through it, the touching of the water would cause electrocution.
Lightning easily destroys Earth techniques, but can be stopped by Wind techniques.

Good.

First I want you meditate for 5 days (Nb time, not real time) on all aspects of lightning. Try to feel your lightning chakra and differentiate it from your basic chakra.

 

[Demosthenes]

*I sit on the ground where I am and begin to let my mind wander. I see images of lightning striking mountains. I see the way the earth beneath it is scratched and scorched. I come to a new realization lightning's strength. I see lightning being conducted into metal and see the way lightning can make swords more deadly and can generate electricity. I see lightning as a force of rapid electrical current and try to make my chakra similar to it, while also keeping in mind the difference flow of my other types of chakra*

Good.
You're beginning to understand. In my opinion, Lightning is the most "powerful" type of elemental jutsu. However, that in no way means it's the best. While lightning may be very powerful, many times it can be alot less versitile than some of the other elements.

With all that in mind we'll get started on the first jutsu

Raiton No Jutsu (Lightning Technique)
Type: Defence/Attack
Rank: D
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: Small static bolts for attack and defense.

Try to form a few small static bolts in the palm of your hand.

 

[Demosthenes]

*I focus on the flow of my chakra, keeping up the likeness to an electrical current. I then attempt to focus it into my hand and release it.*

 

[HiddenShadowNinja]

One small static bolt flickers and then fades.

Hmm, not bad for your first try, but give it another shot.

 

[Demosthenes]

*While still making my chakra similar to an electrical current, I focus more chakra into my hand and, while picturing an electrical bolt in my mind, I release it.*

A few more sparks form.

Good. Now try to use them to attack with.

 

[Demosthenes]

*As my chakra is still flowing like an electrical current, I turn towards one of the three posts and begin to focus chakra into my hand. I then thrust my hand forward and I release the chakra, sending a few bolts towards the post*

(I'm assuming I'm in short range of them.. ^^;..)

They hit the post and cause minor burn marks.

Not bad. That'll do for now.

(Raiton: Raikou Oonami) - Lightning Release: Lightning Surge

Description: The user will concentrate their chakra and slam their hand on the ground to release a surge of lightning across the ground to the opponents feet to shock them.

This one will be a bit harder, but you'll get it with a little work. Give it a shot on my clone.

*I create a clone and then I jump ontop of one of the pillars*

 

[Demosthenes]

*I focus on my chakra current and focus some into my hand. I then slam my hand against the ground and I attempt to send electricity from my hand to the base of the pole.*

*The lightning spreads across the ground, but not far enough to reach the pole or my clone*

You almost had it, try once more

 

[Demosthenes]

*I focus chakra into my hand again, and focus on the power needed to make the distance. I then slam my hand onto the ground and release more Raiton chakra through the ground, in the direction of the pole.*

*It reaches the pole, shocking my clone along the way*

Good. You're getting the hang of it now.

Raiton: Raijingu Sanda (Lightning Style: Raging Thunder)

Description: The user hits the opponent with an electric field shield that covers the users body.

You're going to create an electric field around your body. This can act as somewhat of a sheild against physical attacks, but can also be offensive if you use this and then do a physical attack (punch, kick, etc)

*I focus my chakra around my entire body and then I turn it into lightning, hoping that I don't electrocute myself.*

Not bad, but you didn't make enough. Only around half your body is covered.

Give it a bit more and once you've completed this one go get something to eat, rest up, and think about what we've done so far. Then once your chakra has recharged we'll continue

 

[Demosthenes]

* I cover my body with Raiton chakra once more and then add a reinforcing, extra layer, to make sure that I have enough around my entire body. I then turn the chakra into lightning.*

(Erm.. Is this an RL break from training as well as an RP one?)
