And why not just GTFO and not call them Shinobi then U_U

Shinobi are quick to act, it's not an easy technique as you have to catch them off guard in order to find something to substitute yourself with. You have to play it off right too, shinobi are trained to spot substitutions, Kakashi being a jounin level shinobi with a sharingan was able to pin point the exact time Gaara used a sand clone as a diversion before Lee struck him with the Primary Lotus (which was when Lee shut his eyes from the pain and when Might Gai closed his eyes to pray, a very very very brief moment).
