The following isn't really "fanfiction," but it's a Novella I had to write for my Creative Writing class. I'm really proud of it. Unlike most people in the room, I don't right depressing stuff a lot. I like to write realistic/cool/awesome stories. I do write some depression and conflict (See my TyZula/Cade stories), but I always include happiness and comedy. So, here's the story. It's not in the style I write my fanfiction, but whatever. Like it or not, tell my your opinions.
Announcement: I've said this alot recently when writing one-shots and the short lived (But well praised/fun) Harry Potter FF, but I am returning to Fanfiction. Hopefully, the first chapter will be up sometime this week. I won't spoil anything, but I will tell you it's a Batman based fanfiction that focuses on many people, A few names that will be in the story: Harley Quinn, Jason Todd, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, and Tim Drake. There will be many more, but those are the teasers. Batman will obviously be in it.
Here's the puller: "When things begin to change in Gotham, everything spirals down to ashes. A hero will fall, love will be tested, justice of a broken hope will shine once again, and a past mistake will clean up the city by dousing it in blood."
Now, here is the Creative Writing story. Hopefully this won't be viewed as horrible, and therefore doesn't make you not want to read my up-coming fanfiction.
Story side not: There are so many hidden references. Can you find all of them? I am sorry if there is any spelling/paragraph mistakes. I had to space it all and adjust it from copying it from word to here. Also, I'm surprised my CW teacher, a massive Christian, accepted this....Awkward turning it in, but I got an 100.
"No bro, that's awesome. I mean, I'd never get trapped in that sort of problem, but it's still pretty cool." I responded while fixing my tie and sprucing up my hair in the mirror. My amazing half brown, half blonde hair really looked pretty kickass with my black suit and blue tie. Man, I looked good. I had to after all because today was the day I got my film green lit. I already knew it would be, but still it never hurt to look perfect. "Damn, I look good" I thought.
"Well, of course you won't ever get in that, uh, problem as you put it. You're already in love with Ariana and Liz, although you know as well as I do that you'll never-" my roommate began before I waved my hand up silencing him.
"I know, I know. That's all the fun. I love them, they love me, and most importantly I don't have to worry about commitment. Mainly because I just care too much about our friendship. Love lasts forever, but the friendship us three have are just too much of a price to risk." I said with my arrogant and fake smile.
"You sure it has nothing to do with the fact they're" Again, I cut him off.
"No! It's the opposite of that. Get your head out of the gutter man.
They are...that.., but that's why I love them. Well, a small part. I really do value our friendship. They get me, you know? Although Liz can be sort of a bitch sometimes and Ariana is a little too exited...all the time, I love them." I said in all true words.
“Man, you're whack. I shouldn't be surprised; you do have your Delorian booted every time you park it. Afraid someone will steal it?" he said in a sarcastic tone.
"Yeah, in this apartment anything is possible. Plus, that's my dream car. Nobody harms it." I said with the utmost seriousness. I looked like a boss and sounded like one. Fitting for the next big thing in directing, I thought. "Cy, what time is it?" I asked while turning around in time for him to check his silver watch. Nothing compared to my Batman watch, but still nice.
"It's five till 12, why?" he said while reading off the time. My eyes widened in pure disbelief.
"No seriously, what time is it?"
"Eleven fifty-five. Where'd you learn math, on top of a mountain?" he said half serious-half joking.
"I'm late! THREE HOURS LATE! Why didn't you tell me?" I started shouting while putting my shoes on.
"You never asked, so I never bothered. I thought you were putting on your suit because you were gonna go join Liz and Ari at the movies." He said leaning farther back into his chair.
"Looking like this?! I'm not some corporate suit-wearing monstrosity! I have boundaries!" I said sweating a little while opening door.
"You might wanna hurry man or your boundaries are gonna get fired." he smirked.
"See ya later...*******!" I slammed the door.
"What?" I heard Cy say.
"YOU HEARD ME!" my echo traveled back up to him. Running down the endless amount of stairs and turns, my dream job was running away from me at Flash level speed. This can't be happening! However it was happening and I was feeling a physical toll as I tripped and hit the wall. "DAMNIT!" I shouted right exactly when my neighbor Grey walked past me. "Hi" I waved and smiled. Grey was beautiful, but not even my suit could clear that up so I just got up and ran to my car. Finally! I could see the silver Delorian gleaming from the little light the small crack in the garage had. It never looked so beautiful. Marty McFly would be proud. Without hesitation, I opened the door and started it up. The sound of my savior! The engine sounded awesome. Nailing the reverse, I felt the car shake and an annoying noise. A tire being....ripped to threads?!!
"No! No! No!" I shouted while opening the door and seeing the boot still left on the remaining parts of the tire. "Stupid boot!" My hand ran though my hair while thread rushed down my hazel eyes. I am ruined. Done for, but as I imagined myself at the premiere of my remake of Avatar The Last Airbender, I turned around and faced the door. I could make it. The office wasn't too far away. I can do this! My slow feet really picked up and I knew I could make it even with the limp I know had from the stairs betraying me. The sun shined on my sweaty face when I embraced the streets of New York and quickly turned left to go get my movie. Rushing past everyone was like football, or alteast I'd imagine. I never really was the sports guy. My running showed this. I just couldn't make it. I needed to GTL more often! As fate would have it, I noticed my yellow sunset drive up to the other side of the street. A cab. A cab! My hero! Taking a breath, I ran across the street and shouted "Hey, wait u-" A car cut me off when it hit my abdomen and rendered me unconscious.
My yellow savior turned into a black hell. I just felt like I was sleeping. Was this heaven? I never really was massively religious. It's annoying, but hey, I don't know what's happening.
"Chazz! Chazz! Wake up!" I heard Ari's soft voice screaming. I could feel her tears on my hand. What was happening....
"Bro, come on! Snap out of it!" Cy's voice ringed in my ahead. What in the world is this? Heaven?
"Chazz, if you don't wake up, I'll kill you!" Liz's shrewd voice attacked my ear, but her tear hit the palm of my hand. It certainly wasn't heaven, but it was good. I let a faint smile to my friends as my eyes opened and awakened me out of my peaceful slumber into a blazing bright light. The joy....
"Chazz, you okay?" Cy asked.
"He got mauled by a car. How do you think he is?!" Liz screamed at Cy while also holding my hand, along with Ari.
"C-Chazz? Are you okay?" Ariana asked me, worried and shaking. As my eyes adjusted from the dastardly light that shocked me, I saw my friends. Ariana's long brown hair with red streaks that matched her crying brown eyes set up with her cute face, Liz's also gorgeous black hair with blue streaks that complimented her soulless, but tearful black eyes, and Cy's lame normal short hair that sort of matched his dark skin.
"W-what happened?" As I asked them, I quickly remembered what mattered. "My movie! I missed the appointment!! Did he call? Re-schedule? Am I fired?" I asked with a semi-crazed face looking at everyone at different times, and received the same expression from them.
"You should calm down and take it easy. You just got hit by a car." Ari calmly said in her sweet caring voice.
"I KNOW!" I raised my hands up, matching the shout. "Tell me!" Liz tightened her grip on my hand.
"Don't talk to her like that. You know better." I did know better and seeing the tears flow across Ari's face made me snap back into reality. "I'm sorry Ari. I'm really sorry. I'm just...." Ari hugged me.
"Don't worry! You'll be fine. I promise! I'm sorry for making you worry!" she told me, with the most heartfelt careness I've ever heard her say and she didn't even do anything wrong.
"I'm okay. You didn't do anything. Thank you." I returned the hug and then focused my eyes to the others. "So, really, what did the boss say?" Cy and Liz's face became appalled.
"You get ran over by a freaking car and come out on top with a few scratches and bruised bones, and all you care about is some job? We were worried to death" Cy answered me in the way I sort of expected. Liz tossed an envelope to my hand while Ari released the hug.
"Here, take it. Your precious boss's little servant brought it here. We didn't open it." Liz said while sitting back down next to Ari, who was now sitting back down.
"They do care. I knew it! This is my golden ticket! I bet he felt bad and rescheduled it!" I said with full excitement, but a little part of me was worried. I mean, what if....No, this was it. I knew it! As I tore open the envelope and read the letter, my eyes filled with intense curiosity. The words I hope you get better from Chase Mackeroy Senior President of Princeton Film Industries made my heart fill with joy! I knew I was okay. "And PS Chazz J. Spicer, he said my full name, you're here by fired for your absence. Feel better!" The jaws of my friends dropped at the period of that sentence. "Did you hear that? He said my name and said I'm fired! My name AND that I'm....fired? What?!" I re-read the letter and as fate round housed kicked me in the face again, it read that I was fired. My heart sunk as I dropped the letter onto the floor.
"Chazz?" Cy asked, worried.
"Are you okay?" Ari added.
"Fired?" My hands ran through my hair and stopped on my eyes, covering the soon to begin tears. "Fired? I'm...fired? Fired." I said, in more shock and awe each time. By the last word, the tears slowly began. Not a river like Ari's, but the most painful tears, a straight long line. I worked so hard for it and it's gone, just like that. Cy, Ari, and Liz's face began just as depressed as mine, but Liz wouldn't have it.
"They can't do this. You were hit by a ****ing car for Christ's sake! They can't fire you for someone else's stupidity!" she shouted in anger.
"They can for mine....I was already late." I mumbled through my tears.
"So?!" she responded, even more angry. "I was three hours late! I already had two warning because I was late before, but never this bad. It's my entire fault." I told her.
"Still, it's not right! You are talented and a hard worker. **** those idiots. You earned that job!" Liz gracefully chimed in.
"I don't want it back. I'm tired of it. I worked so hard and I just ruined it all. I don't deserve it." I said, whipping away my tears.
"No, you do deserve it! Don't let those people get you down! Those *******s are ridiculous for this!" Liz responded again.
"Shut up." I said, quietly.
"What?" she asked shocked, while removing her hand from her forehead. I never argued with her because I knew better, but today was different. Today I messed up everything.
"I said be quiet. I screwed it up myself. Don't kill the guys who gave me the chance. They're nice people, but let's face it, I messed up." I said staring directly into her shocked face.
"NICE PEOPLE?! THEY FIRED YOU!" she yelled. "Don't be so stupid Chazz! Stand up for yourself and get what you want!"
"What I want? I've never got what I wanted." I told her, looking down at my bed. "Nothing? Nothing at all? You have nothing that brings you happiness in your life other than that damn job?" she asked, more calmly.
"Nothing. My dream job is gone. I have nothing to be happy about." Angered, she stormed out. "What was that?" I asked Cy and Ari.
"She's just upset that you focus on the job too much. You need to relax some." Cy said.
"Relax? You try relaxing with your dreams shattered." I said with a cold heart knowing full well he did lose his dream. Ari's face became shocked and Cy's became emotionless. "Cy...I didn't mean....” I tried to explain myself, but there was no good in it. “I'm sorry Cy."
"Don't be. You're just mad and I get that, but you can't take it out on everyone who supports you. Take it out on that jerk that fired you. “Cy said.
After a long pause and looking into Ari and Cy's eyes, I told them "Forget the job. I'm tired of working. I need a break and I have an idea. After I get outta here, we all go on a road trip and have fun. So, I can make it up to you guys for my endless bullshit." I laughed along with Cy and Ari. Despite losing everything, I might as well fake it and try to make it all up to them.
"That's exactly what it is." Cy jokingly said. Ari's bright and wide smile made my tears vanish.
"Go get Liz and tell her I'm done being an *******. Also, mention the road trip!" I told Cy and Ari. They walked out the door and left me to think to myself. "Maybe this is the wakeup call I needed. I know I've done this before, but this time I mean it." I sarcastically thought and closed my eyes.
As soon I as knew it, the four of us was on the road. Of course we weren't driving my broken Delorian, but Liz's hearse was.....okay too. At least she customized it to have two seats in the front and two behind them, but she also left the big back section which led to curiosity. I leaned my head back and started laughing. "Why is there a bed in the back?" I asked, seeing how I've never been in her car actually. Liz smiled at Ari, who returned it, and then re-focused on driving.
"That is so awesome!" I told them.
"This hearse is still in function, so there's also a coffin too." Cy added in. My face became disgusted while Ari's became full of shame.
"That is so gross! There's a coffin right next to the bed where you two-" Ari cut me off by turning up the music, which was actually awesome because it was Avril Lavigne. I suppose it was Ari's CD, but I can't complain. I was a fan myself. The air felt amazing. No worries, just an awesome time ahead of us. That is if you count the bathroom at a random gas station as an awesome time. I really had to go. I hate public restrooms, or practically any restroom out of my home, but I just had to go. As I walked in, it was empty, so I just when to the urinal and took a leak. As I began to zip up my pants, I saw a huge shadow next to me. WWE superstar The Great Khali. It was pretty awesome until he started taking a leak. "Can I have your autograph?" I asked. Confused, he just stared at me, said a stern "no" and resumed his business. "Well, this is awkward." I said while slowly walking away. The definition of many fun times ahead? I hope not.
As we arrived at the hotel, we quickly got stares as everyone starting eying the hearse. As we got out, it got even worse. Liz's black shirt reading and I quote "Don't touch Ari or I'll kill you." Didn’t help either. No joke, but luckily on the back it literally said "Rule doesn't apply to Chazz." I put on my shades and my white Tsubaki Soul Eater hat and put my arms around Liz and Ari, while also complimenting Ari’s Kelly Clarkson shirt (again a fan), and looked at the dazed crowd. "Be jealous." I smirked at the crowd. Oh I bet they were. I mean maybe. I had two beautiful girls who weren't into me at all around my arms who just came out of a hearse, but still, it looks differently. Cy opened the door wearing his custom made black Cyborg Teen Titans shirt (He's a fan) and also looked at the dazzled crowd.
"Yeah, be jealous." he told them. Oh, I bet they were..... Our rooms were pretty awesome. We all shared a gigantic room, which was pretty amazing. I ran off to my bed to sleep, but my friends stayed behind. "He's really happy. A different happy. Do you think he's learning to appreciate things?" Cy asked Liz and Ari.
"Maybe." Liz smiled.
"I think this will be the best time of his life!" Ari excitedly told them.
"If it's not his, it'll be mine." Liz told Ari with a very seductive look, which made Ari blush.
"Stop taunting me." Cy told them while heading to his room.
"Don't you have a girlfriend?" Liz asked him.
"Yeah, but, well, never mind!....Cy's out! Later!" Cy said while shutting the door.
"This is really turning out to be fun, Liz." Ari told Liz.
"Yeah, I guess so." Liz answered back while the two walked towards their room.
The next week was full of swimming, playing in the arcade, game tournaments, and watching a god-awful western play produced by Rimay productions. I read that ninjas were going to be in it, but apparently I got that messed up with my Naruto subscription. Still, I laughed. Lounging at the poolside, GTLing (Gym, Tan, Laundry) for the first time in my life, life was good. Weird, considering I'm not tanned at all, but good. The sky looked different. It looked darker, but better as if I could see everything more clearly and I wasn't shrouded by brightness all the time. I was surrounded by the world and of course, like a hundred more random people, in which one was rumored to be the Neil Patrick Harris, but I don't believe it if you ask me. Also, I’d know if one of my idols were here. As my mind relaxed, letting my thoughts drift, I was interrupted by a butler who looked like Alfred from Batman.
"Phone, Mr. Spicer." he said even with an English accent.
"Thank you." I said while grabbing the phone.
"Yeah?" I asked. As fate would have it, my Delorian was totaled when the mechanic accidently lit in on fire. Someone ignited hell’s gasoline in my mind because I was pissed, but before tearing the guy to pieces I had to be sure. "You're joking, right?" I asked.
"No, I-I'm sorry. Your insurance will c-cover it, right?" the voice over the phone said nervously.
"No, I don't have any. I was planning on getting it when I returned!" I said.
"I'm sorry sir, but it's ruined. Everything. Please, please don't sue us. It was a mistake." the guy said scared to death.
“Do you understand how much the car meant to me? How much it ****ing cost me? THAT WAS MY DREAM CAR! WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?!” I shouted into the phone.
“I-I’m sorry! It wasn’t my fault!” the guy shrieked over the phone, probably crying now.
“No, you’re not sorry! Not yet! I want you fired! Get your boss on the line now!” I said with my eyes becoming as dark as I panned my skin to be by tanning. I felt the anger flow throughout my body.
“Please! No, please! T-this job is all I have! I can’t l-loose it. I won’t be able to support my family. I won’t be able to be a mechanic!” the little guy said full of tears.
“Your family? Your little dream? Let’s see how you feel losing everything!” I shouted. Suddenly, I imagined the voice of my former boss speaking with me, coaching me on while I broke this guy. I felt disgusted. Breathing heavily now, I still began to conjure up how I’ll tear him up some more, but then it all sunk in. Taking away his dream and shattering it from anger reminded me of what happened to me. I can’t do that….I can’t stand the feeling of losing everything.
“Was anyone hurt?" I asked.
“W-what?” he stuttered from fear.
“Was anyone hurt?!” I said more annoyed.
"N-no" the man said. I sighed heavily and let the air feel the air while I just stared into the sky sinking in this…this surreal moment.
"No sweat then. It was my dream car, but dreams, especially cars, can be rebuilt. Things happen. At least no one was hurt." I hung up the phone as I heard the voice say "Thank you" in a huge relief. I could feel the shock from his tone and I felt it myself. I couldn’t believe I didn’t kill him for taking away my car, but I just couldn’t take away his dream.
"That was extremely nice of you sir. Most people would have torn him apart out of a disgusting fit of rage. You nearly did, but you made a smart choice.” The butler said.
"I guess so, I guess so." I smiled and then resumed to GTL. I mean I was pissed, but I just didn’t want to have any worries over my vacation. That’s what I let myself believe, but something felt different. I felt better somehow.
A couple days later I was actually invited to a party with some fellow hotelions, but just I was on my way, I noticed Cy arguing on the phone with someone, Raven I assume.
"I'm just saying Rave, you need to lighten up sometimes." I overheard him saying. I really shouldn't intervene, but we were paying basically my life savings on this hotel (I mean we stayed like two weeks already and are booked into until six more), so I figured I could walk wherever I wanted to even if it's to go listen to an argument.
"Hey Cy, is that Rave on the phone?" I asked while walking up to him. He looked much more threatening out on the deck at night, so maybe this isn't the best idea I began to think.
"Don't call me Rave" I heard Raven shout on the phone.
"Okay, Raven." I said, taunting her. "So, how's it going?"
Cy looked at me with the stare that yelled at me "Really?" and I can only imagine Raven's doing the same at wherever she is.
"That good, huh?" I said laughing. They were not amused. I knew that, but Cy reassured me.
"I am not amused." he said. It's like he read my mind, I swear.
"I'll tell you what's up Chazz. I'm taking to an obsessed boyfriend." I heard Raven shout from the phone.
"And I'm talking to a girl who's angry all the time because I love her!" Cy said while screaming at the phone. I heard Raven screaming back, but I grabbed his cell.
"I got your back, Cy." I said, covering the phone with my free hand.
"Hey Raven, it's me Chazz. I wanted to tell you something really important. It's about Cy and you." I said very sincerely.
"What is it?" she said calmly.
"He wanted me to tell you that I'm single and you can date me whenever you want." I calmly said.
"Pass." she said nearly instantly as Cy said "How is that helping?!"
"Seriously though Rave, we're two friends here, so I trust you and understand you, sometimes. Cy's an over obsessed in love robotic like gym tool." I told Raven.
"Yeah, he is." she said, causing Cy to drop his jaw in shock. "But you're also a dark moody bitch. Now I like that kind of girl, but the story here is that you two are perfect for each other. Both of you love each other a lot and I mean a lot, but you guys are wait for it, human. People argue, even those who love each other. Now, this is just a little bump in the road of love. You two are going to get married right? Already sounds to me you are because you fight like little kids, but love each other like true lovers do. Now, stop talking to me and talk to your man." I then looked at Cy. "You, stop staring at me and go talk to your girl." I handed the phone back and overheard Cy tell Raven he loved her and vice-versa. I smiled before shutting the door and going to my room. It felt good helping a friend out.
Life was good. It's been a long time since the incident and we were on our last week at the hotel. I'm like poor now and will need a job, but it's all been worth it. After a day of playing against Cy in Mario Cart and winning, I really got worried because I haven't seen nor heard of Liz or Ari all day. So, that night I looked around for them and on my way, I saw Ari crying on the balcony. Her face looked so full of sorrow when drenched in the moonlight's shadow.
"Hey, Ari, are you okay?" I asked while walking up to her. She began to wipe the tears away.
"Y-yeah."
She wasn't. "I've never seen you cry so...different. What's wrong with my amazing little red head?" I asked while leaning against the balcony's stone railing.
"Nothing, I'm just....just....." she muttered before drowning herself out.
"Ari?" I said with full seriousness. I've never seen her so confused.
"It's Liz. She asked me...." Ari said before stopping herself.
I didn't understand. "Ari, we're best friends. I love you. Let me help you. What did Liz ask?" I told her while looking straight into her eyes.
"She asked me to marry her and I don't know what to do!" she yelled. It's the second time I heard her yell in legit anger, the first being when I overheard her yell at Liz's parents because they didn't approve of Liz and well, anything about her. How could you not approve of that cute evil face?
"What? She asked you...to marry her?! Like tie the knot, build a coffin, say goodbye to everything marriage?" I asked her.
"You make it sound just oh so wonderful. This is serious Chazz. I love her, but-"
I interrupted her and told her "But what? Love is all you need."
She let a small smile out before losing it again. "No, it isn't! I do love her more than anyone, but so many people don't like or approve of us. Our family mostly. I'm twenty four years old. I'm too young to get married! I have a job that barely pays my share in the apartment. I live in an apartment! I want it all to be perfect when we get married, but I have nothing. Nothing! I smile all the time out of love, but this is just too much." she said making me eyes look down over the balcony in sorrow.
"Sometimes love is what we have and we mistake it as nothing. A couple of amazing people told me that what I thought was nothing was truly everything. Some people have the money and the support from everyone, but don't have the smile. The smile is all you need. The smile of love. You have it. Liz has it. What more do you need? A perfect wedding? You'll have that, I promise. Love is all you need to have one, but I'll spice it up for you too. Approval of others? Who cares? As long as you two love each other, nobody else should matter, but just to let you know, I got your back. It's what friends do. They help and appreciate their friends. Especially, the ones they love."
“Chazz, do you….really mean that?” she said mumbled at first, but more clearly in the latter part.
“Yes, I truly do. I love you guys more than anything and you should follow what you love.” I told her, letting out a small smile.
A huge smile covered my face as Ari began to cry again and lunge at me, with her arms open wide. "Thank you Chazz." She hugged me and I held her tight as the tears came to a halt for her and mine began.
Who would've thought that the next month, I would be at the wedding of Ari and Liz? I am still psyched. Standing at my car's window, I looked at myself and saw the same half-colored hair, the same suit, and the same shades, but a new me. A happy me. As I began to step into my new Viper Cy helped me get in order for helping him and Rave, I heard a familiar voice.
"Chazz, my man. How're you?" a man with slicked back dark hair and in a black suit said behind me.
"Chase Mackeroy, I'm fine. How could I ever forget you bro?" I said turning around to confront my former boss.
"Where are you going all dressed up?" he asked.
"A wedding. My friends are getting married." I responded.
"The muscle freak or those two lesbians? Either way, must be hell for you, huh?" he laughed.
"What do you want?" I asked without letting that insult penetrate my mind. I mean this was my former boss after all.
"Smart man. Straight to the point. I've realized I've wronged you and I need you back. The movie you suggested is a huge hit in the office and we need you back to film it. It's already green lit." he told me.
"Aren't you one of the worst rated companies now? Your last couple of films haven’t been so....amazing, have they?” I sarcastically responded.
"You've become quite a little jerk on your time off, but don't worry because I like that. We need you. So, pass the lame wedding for the freaks and come live your dream." he said putting his hand on my shoulder.
"Live my dream, huh?"
Back at the wedding, chaos was spreading.
“Where is Chazz?! He's late." Liz yelled as Cy and Raven.
"Calm down, he'll be here. He said it's his dream to attend your wedding, so relax." Raven said so calm making Liz's eyes light up in fire.
"Do not talk back to me on my wedding! Cy! Control her!" Liz screamed.
"No." he said, laughing and walking away with Raven to sit in the audience. "Don't no me!" she said while a man approached her.
"We're ready to begin, Ms." the priest said.
"No, we're not. Chazz isn't here. He promised he'd be here." she said.
"Maybe he lied. He might've-" the man was cut off by Liz grabbing his collar.
"He will not break a promise. This was one of his dreams. Don't think he'll let it slip away. He WILL NOT let his dreams go away." Liz scolded the man.
"You better believe her." I said while opening the double doors, shocking her.
"Chazz!" Liz ran up and hugged me, something rare.
"Hugs? Well, if Ari doesn't mind, I'm still single you know." I smiled and hugged her back laughing.
"Thank you for coming." she said. A thank you from her was rare and felt pretty good.
"No problem. You're happy today. I can't miss that, can I?" I joked.
Liz looked down at my hands covered in blood. "What did you do to your hands?" she asked.
"Ran into my former boss. He tried to break my dreams again by offering me a job if I missed this. I punched him in the face. He bleeds easily." I told her. Liz looked at me a land chuckled a bit, knowing full well I’m no Rocky. “It also kinda helped he stumbled back and fell into this big guy, and I blamed it all on him. I got blood on me from the beat down that guy gave him, but still, I helped!” I said, truthfully.
She laughed and said "Glad you finally kicked his ass! Even if you really didn’t actually kick it or even come close, I’m glad you hit him" Her smile defined the rest of the day. Raven and Cy were happily together and next in line to marry, Ari and Liz were now married and in love, and I finally completed a dream. Talk about smiling. All they wanted was my appreciation and all I needed was to give it to them, those who mattered most in my life.

All I ever wanted
"As I was saying, Raven and I are thinking about getting married. Tying the big knot, crazy huh?" my roommate said while leaning back into the giant recliner. Well, you wouldn't know it if you saw him in it. Being the buff body builder he is on top of the fact that he's also 6 foot seven doesn't really do the recliner justice.
