Please can some one help me i am using a pro book 4515 for several of months now and it is always too hot ,literally Shuts down on its own like after 5 hours i cant even use it on my bed because i am afraid i will stop the fan blows What should i do ???Should i get a new fan ??I cant afford a new PC so that's out of the question it usually has a blue light when it gets very hot ,I am now using it mainly on the floor where there are ceramic tiles as it over heats less but its increasing and its worse please someone help.Why is there blue light and what is a real way to stop the overheating.

ok, when your laptop overheats meaning your blocking the fan causing the inside to heat up quick, i suggest you pick up a cooling pad. its around like 20bucks but almost every laptop needs one. it brings cold air inside ur laptop causing it to stop overheating.
laptop are expensive to begin with, you should invest in a cooling pad/or fan. go to bestbuy, futureshop they should have some for cheap. and it really does help in cooling ur laptop down.

A new fan maybe enough. You have the option of a cooler too (i think that's the name) but you should see that in the repair guy.
Also, try to see if you only have the needed applications running to prevent the pc from using to much resources

As for the thread: buy a cooling pad and/or get your laptop looked at. Mine does that when I use it for too long. If you're doing too much at one time, then that accelerates the problem.

Well you get the picture I used to have the same problem but now my laptop is ice cold and never shuts down. But beware it uses a lot of energy so don't use if you are on a battery.

Just a little extra thought when mine did this it turned out to be the battery. Try taking out your battery and using the lead to see if you still have the problem.
Not to be an ass but from what I read he had the laptop for a few months and shouldn't really have to clean it much. Also I can leave my laptop on 24 hours a day and it doesn't overheat.
Some of the suggestions already made here make sense to me. Just get a fan underneath for laptop so that it gets more air in. However seems like there is a serious issue with either 2 things. Your process or your video card. If you still got a warrently I'd just take it back and tell them to give me a new one. Replacing any of these out of pocket won't be that cheap.
As far the restarting problem. hardware wise. 3 things. Processor, video card, ram.

You fan is either not spinning or is clogged up with dust so can't spin, either take it to a shop or get it out yourself, i personaly used a hoover and if just sucked up a shitload of dust then my pc was working like a beast again, i don't really advise it tho esp if your hoover is powerfull it'll mess up you pc on the inside
Several Months is a long time, especially if you use it for more than 6 hours a day.
I'm saying he needs to get it reflowed and to use the Laptop on flat surfaces only, because it needs ventilation.
Majority of the Laptops these days have built in Video Cards. You need to have the South Bridge reflowed bro.
1st - Get one of these bad boys to clean out your fan

2nd - Use your laptop on flat surfaces only. If your going to put it on your lap, get one of them coolers everyone else has suggested.
3rd - Make sure to rest your Laptop, never deplete the battery.
I understand that but for a few month usage and not running it 24/7 his computer shouldn't overheat like that. You know this and I know this. he's got hardware issues, and if he has been trying to run his system like that and keeps overheating it's going to get worse
