Hebi Sasuke vs. Jiraiya

[Icelerate]

He's an S-class Shinobi and outclassed an Elite Jonin. He's not Jonin Level, not even.

They had no intel on him and an actual kage level shinobi like Mei who is probably the weakest kage would have one paneled Asuma, Shikamaru, Izumo and Kotetsu which is a far better than Hidan's performance. I do agree he's elite jounin and not your ordinary jounin.

[Icelerate]

No way. Jounin cannot take on a Bijuu.

Collective, Kakuzu and Hidan are well above jounin level.

[The Messiah]

Yes of course but we arent talking about ET. Its not that fair of a technique.

It's still a technique that he knows how to use and he can use it in battle.

[KidGamer65]

how? sasuke 3T is more than fast enough to react to jiraiya since he was able to react to KB. jiraiya's punch was easily caught by human path with no signs of after punch(ghost) and his sensory was easily exploited twice by asura path. how is orochi absorbed sasuke not going to be able to defeat jiraiya? even his hair techs can be blocked off by CS2 hand or Snake wrap. and why can't sasuke use genjutsu blitz the frog to prevent it from using oil for jiraiya's flames? swamp tech is irrelevant cause more than likely sasuke would just use manda as a meat shield or path way to get out of bad spot.

edit: frog call. forgot he had that. I doubt sasuke would properly counter that without intel

Being able to react to someone doesn't mean you can defeat them in close quarters combat. In fact none of what you've mentioned here supports the assertion that Sasuke beats Jiraiya at all let alone mid-high diff. Ghost punches use NE from the sides of the fist as shown by when Naruto hit Asura Path. Human Path catching his fist only means that his punches aren't strong enough to break his guard, not that he doesn't have Ghost punches, cause Db IV lists him as a user of Frog Kata.

-Hair techs can't be blocked by snake wrap. His senbon attack would rip right through them and skewer Sasuke, same goes for his wings. CS2's wings can fend them off but that leaves him open for Rasengan, Chou Oodama Rasengan or an elemental combo from J man and the toads and Sasuke won't survive either of those.
-Yomi Numa isn't irrelevant if it can one shot Manda.
-Asura Path being able to sneak up on him is irrelevant. That was a 6 on 1 scenario where Jiraiya thought he killed his opponent. This is 1 on 1.
-Genjutsu blitz is a ridiculous scenario that never happens. Distance is 50m. They can block LoS with a Dust Cloud. :lol How is Sasuke gonna cross that distance and put them both in Genjutsu before Jiraiya does something about it?

Even outside of Frog Call he doesn't stand a chance. Jiraiya would mid diff him. If Sasuke tries to fight him in CQC Chou Oodama Rasengan and Jiraiya's hair techniques give him an overwhelming advantage.

Collective, Kakuzu and Hidan are well above jounin level.

Even Hidan by himself is above jounin. He is low kage but nonetheless in the kage level.

[ToshiZO]

Collective, Kakuzu and Hidan are well above jounin level.

No jounin level guy is taking down a Bijuu, with help or not. Heck a jounin level guy would die fighting a Bijuu even with Kakuzu there let alone be the one leading the capture.

This wouldn't make Hidan a Jonin Level Shinobi and I fail to see why Mei is the weakest kage level shinobi when we had the likes of Wind Arc Kakashi, Darui, and Kinkaku and Ginkaku (individually) supposedly being among the likes of a Kage Level Shinobi as well.

Kakashi supposedly, didn't even consider himself on the likes of a Sannin, so I'm not sure how you can even claim that every Kage Level Shinobi are Sannin Level.

Okay if you say so.

No jounin level guy is taking down a Bijuu, with help or not. Heck a jounin level guy would die fighting a Bijuu even with Kakuzu there let alone be the one leading the capture.

Shikamaru and Ino collectively did just that.

[RedRobin]

Okay if you say so.

Shikamaru and Ino collectively did just that.

Why would you say he is not?

[ToshiZO]

Shikamaru and Ino collectively did just that.

? When?

[Booker]

Why would you say he is not?

Maybe because he got trashed by a low Jounin with basic intel.

If you think Hidan was trashing Bijuus, there's really no point in continuing this.

What do you mean think? He factually took on a Bijuu, are you this dense?

Basic intel, prep and an ambush for the smartest character in the verse.

Konan nearly killed Obito with prep and some intel. Are they supposed to be on the same tier? Throw in some PIS and there you have it, nothing unbelievable about it.

Sorry then, I must have forgotten it. Can you post the scans of Hidan taking on a Bijuu here so I can brush up?

An ambush that anybody could have set up. "Hole in the ground with some tags and wires". Real ingenious.

Obviously not, but this comparison doesn't work. The fact that Shikamaru had to prep doesn't make it any less embarassing that a supposed "Kage Level Opponent" was beaten by a low Jonin and an overhyped ambush with next to no destructive capability.

Hell, without Kakuzu present, Hidan would be merked by Kakashi.

Wow salty much?

Basic intel? How was that basic intel? You act as if everyone is as smart as Shikamaru and would be able to figure out his technique while in battle. Asuma died to get that intel and then it took weeks later for him to formulate a plan to take Hidan down. So its not just basic intel, it was also lots of prep time to put together all the wires and explosives.

Who said he was trashing Bijuus? But he did fight with one which is more than any jounin could handle.

What intel? "He cannot die"? That's incredibly basic. It would take any Jonin about 30 seconds to determine that.

Like I said I don't remember that, so I'll need to review the scans.

I believe it's chapter 313, where Hidan and Kakuzu hunt and kill Yugito Nii, the Perfect Jin of Matatabi.

I'm not sure why you're taking from those scans "Hidan fought a Bijuu". It's pretty obvious to me that the only benefit Hidan was there was when the Jin was in human form, and even then he had Kakuzu as back up to handle any Bijuu forms.

Hidan is for sure Jounin, I don't deny that. But it stops there. Hidan is nowhere near Kage level, and without Kakuzu present, Kakashi would have trashed Hidan.

[NarutoX28]

That's dishonest. Hidan underestimated him and Shikamaru guided him towards a location which panned out an elaborate strategy in response to the knowledge he gathered on Hidan. Shikamaru isn't low Jonin, not with prep considering how Shikamaru practically subdued both Hidan and Kakuzu simultaneously in 2-3 moves.

What do you mean? There was a Bijuu right there, he survived an onslaught from a Bijuu, even if he outlasted it that means he fought against a Bijuu [

And again you're gonna ignore the fact that Asuma a high jounin admitted that Hidan is far stronger than him.

Let me make this simple for you.
Asuma = Top Konoha Jounin
Admits Hidan is far beyond him, how does that mean Hidan is on Asuma's level? That's clear cut portrayal right there.

People underestimate an ambush with intel. Kakuzu did quick thinking and sent his threads underground last minute, if Shikamaru had intel on that, then maybe even those two would be finished.

Heck Tobirama and the 2nd Raikage combined lost to an ambush from opponents who are below them.
