That's a pretty relative term in District 9's case. It was made on a 30million budget but considering some of the awesome action scenes later in the movie you'd would think it was made on a 100 million budget. It had a 1st time director with no none actors and shot in a foreign country. For comparisons sake G.I Joe was made on a 175 million budget yet District 9's Fx look the more convincing IMO. I guess I prefer that gritty, realistic use of Cgi which was used very well.
