The 8 gate increase damage to the opponent but cause damage to the user here are there rules.

Gates 1-3 increase damage by 3 for each hit, user damage=3 per turn gate is active
Gates 4-6 increase damage by 6 for each hit, user damage=6 per turn gate is active
Gates 7-8 increase damage by 8 for each hit, user damage=8 per turn gate is active(8th gate kills user after the attack is done)
Important NoteDont use the gate any longer then needed and only gate damage to user is applied to any of the jutsu that have its requirement time 2)

It is possible to force the body to open these gates, which allows the ninja to release ten times the usual amount of power. Unfortunately such power comes at a price, as each subsequent gate is opened, the ninja increases the damage to their body and comes closer to death. For this reason gate opening has been deemed Kinjutsu. If all eight gates are opened, the ninja gains power that surpasses the Hokage at the cost of their own life. Also even if the ninja opens fewer gates, if they do not strike a finishing blow against their opponent, they will be severely weakened and very defenseless to a counter attack. It is also unclear whether the ninja has to open all the gates in order, of if they can open a later gate and bypass the previous ones.

first we need to place needles on your chakra points. by doin so it will help u to flow chakra into the gates.
*takes out a box of needles and starts pokin some needles in jkes's hands, chest, back, legs, face and head*

first concentrate your chakra all over your body. then focus your chakra into the first gate which is located in your head, and slowly fill it up wit chakra
