I wanted to do a little thread about this, as this has been a big talking point for a while now. A lot of people like and respect Sasuke because he has a more realistic view of the world than Naruto. People had theories and beliefs of what a hokage is, and I'm curious as to what you guys think after reading what his goals are.

Persnoally, I've thought he's an irrational fool for a while now, and 694 cemented that belief even further. People say he's a realistic character, but what kind of realism involves people following leaders they hate? It just makes no sense whatsoever. Sasuke is so irrational and blind to what's going on. He talks about how he was all alone, and ignores all the love and support of everyone in Konoha. When people say Sasuke's emo, I think that comment is pretty much proof of that. Sasuke's whole belief system just makes no sense at all. In all honesty, Sasuke's beliefs are very similar to Danzo's, and we all know how he turned out. You need darkness to work with the light, and that's what Sasuke should be, but that darkness shouldn't be the face of the village.

Sasuke's a ****ing idiot if he thinks killing all the kage will do him any good. If anything, it will cause the people to rebel against him, as the kage are loved and cherished by their villages, they aren't these corrupt autocrats who destroy their villages and let the people starve et al. It's like does Sasuke even have his head on straight? Does he not see that the people have feelings too, and that not everything will go his way? Sasuke acts like such a spoiled brat wtih this attitude that everything will go his way because he feels it's right.

And it's just so frustrating how Sasuke has all this power, and he, correctly so, talks about how his power gives him the ability to make his goals become reality. The So6P was a ****ing idiot for giving Sasuke that power, the sage is just such a naive fool, and an overall disappointing character. Oh, and he's still around this chapter >.>

I know I'm rambling a bit here, i'm curious if you guys are still on the Sasuke bandwagon if you were there before or if you hopped off after hearing his goals and beliefs and such, or if you weren't on the Sasuke bandwagon after hearing his goals and beliefs and such, but decided to hop on or stay off?

You don't have to agree with him or like his intentions.
Though,to a certain degree it makes sense.

The hate continues to get passed on from one to another sasuke is breaking the cycle and taking it all in by himself.
He is taking the heat so to speak.

Madara Obito unintentionally got the five nations together just like they wanted but,not under the same pretense they imagined.

Sasuke is willingly having them come together and letting them take their hated out on him and not each other.

I get it.
Don't really care for his approach but it does make sense.

But it really doesn't. Why would people want to follow someone they hate? They'd immediately start rebelling, and you'd get another war. If Sasuke's going to take a hate filled role, it should be a Danzo-esque role where he does his shit through the shadows, and bear the darkness in that regard. Sasuke is just so irrational in his thinking, ti's ****ing ridiculous. And even after hearing all that bullshit, the So6P still decided to give him all that power? Like seriously?

No. He's supposedly intelligent but he has the same mindset that Naruto had before Itachi lectured him.
That's why he will lose this fight because he is following a believe his brother no longer uses and has now told Naruto that way is the reason he failed and why if he had seeked aid of his friends he may not have failed.

I for once completely agree with Sasuke, his character became much more meaningful with this chapter and I think his ways are equal to Naruto's, though I am not gonna debate how, read the last chapter and carefully think about everything that Sasuke said if you need explanation.

Sasukes has a no BS attitude about the world. I like it, I mean, look at how the shinobi world turned out with soft hearted, easy going, everybody deserves a second chance type of leaders. I'm not a bandwagoner, I think it would do the shinobi world some good to have a leader who isn't afraid to keep people in check. Without the beasts there is no inbalance in power. Without 5 nations there is no fighting for resorces and disagreements. Face it. Sasukes ideal world would work out much better. Yeah he is the leader because he is stronger than everybody else. But I can't see him bullying everybody, creating hate and deceit, and starting a civil war. A vote for Sasuke is a vote for peace. goodbye.

the only thing that changed as far as my opinion of Sasuke's agenda and reasoning goes is how farther up the scale of stupid went. Like sreiously, Itachi literally told him what happens to someone who tries to shoulder everything and he still decided to come up with this half baked idea? It doesn't get any dumber than that. It really doesn't.

No, he's no less of a moron. It's strange how he is so fixated on itachi, yet choses to completely ignore everything itachi tried to teach him. What sasuke wants is no different from what madara and kaguya wanted. He may claim altruistic motives but its clearly still the same emo sasuke talking shit because his family died. Come on! Its the same deal for naruto, only he has shown something called character developmrnt over the course of this manga where as sasuke is still the same old whiney brat from the chuunin exams. And the whole, i can take the worlds hate, utterly bollocks. We've seen what happens whrn sadukes feelings get hurt, and without naruto around to dissuasde constant assasination attempts on sasuke by the shinobi world, there will be a lot of people on his hit list.

I totally agree that Naruto is too soft, but part of being a good leader is appeasing the people, as it keeps everybody under control and keeps society running smoothly. How the hell are you appeasing the people by killing their beloved leaders? It just makes no sense at all. If anything, ti's going to start another war, and we're back at square 1

I think the big problem with both Naruto and Sasuke is they're too extreme on the opposite side of the spectrum. Naruto's way too ****ing soft and somehow manages to think a mass murdering psychopathic serial killer is "the coolest" and Sasuke somehow thinks killing the kage and taking over by himself won't result in chaos and a war between Sasuke and the people. You have to find a way to be both hardened, but soft and caring at the same time. For example, treat your people with respect, give them a village where they can thrive and be happy, but at the same time treat criminals like criminals and don't forgive everyone just because. It's clear neither is the right answer, but at least in this regard, I'm actually on Naruto's side. Sasuke is just so irrational and blind to reality.

I'm actually surprised I haven't seen a lot of Sasuke supporters in this thread yet, I always thought this site was more on Sasuke's side of things.
Sasuke is following Itachi's failed way of thinking and is why he won't succeed...this is backed up to the fact that Itachi said it himself and lectured Naruto about the right way a Hokage should do vs what he did to protect the leaf like not shouldering everything yourself and letting those close to you help you unlike Sasuke who thinks he can shoulder everything

It makes practical sense.
As an ending for the series and as an answer to the running theme of the show ?No.

That is why i said i understand, even though i disagree with actually enacting that method.

He's now being portrayed as a childish fool with unrealistic aims. It does seem like Kishi rushed Sasuke's answer...

Sasuke is a coward too, waiting for all the strong opponents to be taken out by others before turning on Naruto.
