lol i did not usopp was being jerkish
He was being jerkish because they made a decision without thim to get rid of the ship that was given to them by a girl he risked his life for? How is standing up for what you believe in being jerkish? He even had the courage to challenge the Captain for the ship.

And Death's like Ace and Sabo (don't give me that "Sabo may be alive" shit, because that scene is still considered a death) were the saddest imo. It wasn't Ace's death that did it, but Luffy's reaction to it that made me tear up a bit (like a man). There were also really sad moments such as that dog's owner's store being destroyed, everyone of the SH's past, Usopp leaving, Merry being burned, Luffy losing his crew etc.

well...I didn.t see until the 60th's episode..and I continue to watch...but..so far..I only laugh to death xd
You should try watching Gintama, that show is hilarious! Ah, you will get to the sad parts eventually~

Saddest parts for me were when Usopp left, and after the fight with Kuma. Never cried though
I also found this saddening somehow.

I don't think 'jerkish' is a good adjective here, maybe childish? I mean, he wasn't really being a jerk, just childish in a way, he just had a really close bond with Going Merry and like a child couldn't bear parting with his beloved toy..
Oda probably wants to convey how these kinds of things can tear a crew apart and that you should not, as a crew member, go against the captain in such a fashion. And most of all, how important a ship is to the crew.

never cried but was sad from chopper and the doc ,robbins background and saddest moment when ace and wb died and it is really hard for me to get sad from anime or tv series because normally i don´t give a shit when someone dies in anime or movie example jiraiya that just shows how great op is because a ship in op gets more love than almost all naruto characters

Times I cried or simply brought few tears to my eyes, chronologically, and up to the recent events of the Manga

I cried when with Chouchou was given his backstory and then Mohji burned his treasured Pet Shop.

I got teary eyes when they showed Zoro's story and he suddenly lost Kuina.

I cried when they showed the reason why Usopp lies.

I got teary eyes when Arlong shot Bellemere in front of Nami and Nojiko. i then cried when Nami said she joined Arlong pirates to buy the village. And then when they stole her treasue and she put on a huge smile and said, it's ok, I'll get it back. I teared up again when she cried and begged for luffy to help and then the badass walk to Arlong, and then when Luffy screamed: We're Nakama!

I teared up when Luffy when luffy vowed to become the pirate king, it started to hit me the importance of such tittle.

I teared up when they showed laboon story, and when luffy made the drawing to protect him.

I much later cried, but like, snot and drool, when they showed Chopper's story. Throughout the whole story.

Then I teared up when Vivi started shouting everyone to stop fighting, even after Crocodile's been defeated and the bomb difused. I teared up again when she gave the speech, talking about the wonderful time she had with the Straw hats.

I teared up with proud when blackbeard encouraged Luffy to dream, after he ws beaten up by bellamy. I teared up again when he one-shotted bellamy later in the series, and when We Are started playing as they went up the Knock up stream.

I teared up again when they showed Calgara's promise to Norland, and then when Norland was executed. And then again when Luffy ranged the bell and Cricket could be free again.

I teared up when usopp and Luffy separated, because Merry was dying.

I only cried again when they showed Robin's back story, cried heavily. And cried even more when she cried I want to live and usopp burned the flag, declaring war to the world for a simple friend.

I teared up when Merry returned, with Usopp yelling to Luffy to not give up. and then cried so hard when Merry was buried.

I cried a bit with Brook's story, it was really sad.

I then teared up when everyone was separated by Kuma.

Later I only teared up when Ace died, and then with Whitebeard. But truly only when they showed Whitebeard only wanted a family.

then I cried with sabo's crying to dragon because the world was rotten, and then when he died.

And I teared up when One Piece was on a break for a month and returned with the reunion of the straw hats. And then when Luffy shouted he wanted to be pirate king.

I also teared up when they showed Fisher Tiger story, and when they showed Arlong was only trying to mimic Sabadody Park, because he couldn't get there. But I only cried with otohime, when she tried so hard to get signatures, crying at night because people were pulling out. And when everything burn and she died, I died too.

Thats just how Usopp is. It meant alot to all of them, but it meant the most to him because he took pride in that ship. He knew that it was no longer capable of going on, but he still claimed he could fix it, and he even tried. He wasn't being selfish, just naive. And thats why I think its a sad scene because Usopp never challenges somebody to a fight (out in the open like that) but he challenged Luffy anyway. When he did that, most of us thought "What an idiot, he won't stand a chance against Luffy." , but he surprised us by giving Luffy one hell of a fight.
