and yes against multiple opponents Hashi would do better and I consider him stronger but by current feats he would lose against Itachi as far as he can't counter high tier genjutsu or has a move which is instant but as far as the manga goes all his jutsus requires him to put his hands together or use hand seals and these thing are slower than an actual eye contact

and once again I'm not saying Itachi is stronger... he's just a bad matchup due to his one-shot moves and the fact that Hashirama has no instant attack and genjutsu counter

Not really. Any of Hashirama's large scale techs forces the fight into long range battle no matter what scenario you put them in. Not to mention Hashirama uses clones to fight.
