He can't hurt Ay, his punches aren't going to do squat to him. Though Ay's going to have a hard time putting him down due to him having the capability to react to Ay's level of speeds and the fact that he has Tsunade level healing.

Hashirama has shown no feat that lets him disable Ay with his weapons and fists alone.A Senju punch can't hurt Ay?
The best he can do is pin him with Myoujinmon, and proceed to outlast him since Hashirama can't actually beat Ay down.

He has been standing still ever since he was performing the Barrier jutsu so he had time. In his Madara fight it took a decent amount of time, which talking to Madara and Madara standing give him time.
The thing is he cannot move while gathering natural energy.

He wasn't gathering until he closed his eyes for Madara, hence him talking to him the whole time, I don't know where the idea came from that he started gathering while having a conversation with Madara (Which goes against the requirements to enter SM considering he isn't even focusing) but it isn't true. His intent to talk Madara down first disagrees with that.
For the barrier, I highly doubt that Hashirama was gathering Nature Energy and using Ninjutsu at the same time, pretty sure that isn't even possible considering you need to balance your chakra with the Nature Energy being taken in.
He doesn't need to move, all he has to do is enter it and he can block Ay's attack.

Gathering Nature Energy automatically pushes you into Sage Mode, he isn't going to gather and then not enter Sage Mode, so the bold part doesn't hold up. Why would he try to enter Sage Mode before his confirmation of Madara's mindset? That goes against his intent. The jutsu was activated in the panel before him entering Sage Mode, hence them all saying the jutsu's name in the panel before Hashirama uses Myoujinmon.
Not to mention he was standing still there making the handsigns in the panel just posted, so the amount of time he was standing there doesn't help your argument either.
It is, nigh instant. Not instant but very fast.

No, I mean there are two different panels that show him going into it faster than Naruto. Panels can't be used as a measure of time since different events flow at different times.
