I think that hashirama may be capable of katon techniques along with his mokuton, suiton and doton. Just food for though*_*t

I think he was implying the teamwork of Madara and the two would be performing said jutsu with each other's cooperation. When he said "katon" and "genjustu" I figured it was Madara to be doing this part of the technique since it's more up his ally while Hashi would do the other stuff that's up his alley or something like that. That's what I gathered from it, I don't think Hashi has Katon

never said it was proof i said may. anyway there is no proof that it was a combo or that he even knew that madara had katon element. plus combo jutsus usually say combo in the name right?

It was part of a combo move he wanted to make with Madara, we've seen that they used to spar, so presumably, he's seen Madara use Katon, as he had said that they tested their techs on each other.

thats true but i still cant be sure it was a combo since they didnt mention it being combo, but i would think that madara showing techs such as
Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique would give away a clue of madaras clan since that technique is mainly an uchiha technique.

I agree. Hashi might have Katon, but it could just as well be Madara doing that part (most likely) and it was called Katon genjutsu, so it could have been a genjutsu in which Katon was used as well.

Well for one I'm pretty sure he was just joking around with Madara, and if he was actually serious he was talking about a collaboration jutsu with Madara. We've never seen Hashirama use Katon and Madara as a uchiha who can use it, also we don't really have evidence of Hashirama being skilled in genjutsu while we know Madara is.

Yes we know that hashirama is skill in genjutsu, taijutsu and ninjutsu cause it is stated in the manga. but katon is a little out of hand and hashi was talking about a collaboration technic though.
