So I have two questions first off did madara really beat hashi and second how does him being revived allow him to break free when he was clearly unable to do it before

I would still pit Edo Hashirama over Madara since Hashirama was still taking Madara on, he used his wood dragon as Madara was trapped after all, he wasn't immobilized until Madara was revived and stopped him from moving. It's been said Edo's are not as strong as when they're alive so after Madara was revived, he got not only his past (EMS Madara's) strength but the added bonus of Hashirama's DNA with Hashirama's healing ability and wood jutsus. If we look at Hashirama, he split his chakra with all his clones he made and was fighting Madara while his clones were aiding the alliance so he wasn't fighting at his fullest either way. Same can be say for Madara who was playing around with the alliance and used a lot of chakra himself.

I still think Rinnegan Madara is below prime Hashirama since he had Bijuus 2-9 (2-8 when he fought EMS Madara but didn't need to use them) and SM.

well not technically because hashi only had like 80% of his power in edo but you would say madara too well not really he had sage mode + Rinnegan and well healing jutsus from hashi so id say he didn't defeat him truly.

In the long run, Madara beat Hashi and it's pretty apparent that blind Madara>Edo Madara.

Madara had more than he did in there last fight but I think their still equal

hashi beat madara plain and simple, who ever says diff is just ignoring what happened in the manga and just being fanboys/girls. the only reason madara was able to do something was because he was revived plain and simple. not to mention madara had been brought back stronger while in edo so it's even more embarrassing.

"Blind Madara" or "Edo Madara" =/= Madara

During the whole Fourth Great War arc, we haven't actually seen the real Madara, power-wise; everything we've seen has been an augmented version from the start.

If Hashi was augmented by Kabuto like Madara was, this war would be over.

Q1: Hashirama wasn't immobilized until Madara was rejuvenated and revived via Rinne Tensei. When you look at Edo Madara vs Edo Hashirama, you can clearly see that Hashirama had Madara bound while he was still able to move freely. So Hashirama won against Edo Madara and lost against Blind Madara, mainly because Edo Madara had already weakened him.

Q2: He was returned to full strength.

Madara won their psychological battle in the long run though. Madara's left Hashirama behind.
