Well its shown his Mokuton is able to absorb chakra. We have also read he fought all the Tailed Beasts and equally tamed them all at once, something I believe Rinnegan cannot do.

He is said to create a massive forest in a instant. Proof that he had loads of chakra.

So yes the Mokuton's chakra absorption ability benefited Hashirama a lot.

Yes mokuton can surpress chakra, and there is no proof that he fought 8 tailed beast at same time. He surpressed their chakra like Yamato surpressed 4 tails Naruto's chakra/Kisame.

Mokuton cannot control others/tailed beast which Rinnegan can do. Use chakra chains and you have some new pet(s)
