not only is the rinnegan boosting it. it is also hashiramas life force that is boosting his own strength. just like danzou when he used hashiramas cells

You youngsters need to show some respect within ur intellect. Hashirama was without a doubt stronger than any ninja of his time,treated most of the tailed beast as pets and possessed alot more than just his Mokuton, super strength and healing techs without seals. U need to believe that every time him and madara fought each other that he allowed Madara to live not the other way around.(we know Madara would've killed him if he could) THE 1st Hokage is the s#!T

Madara is much more powerful know. Even kabuto stated that madara is a special edo. Different from the rest. Not only is he an edo but the 1sts dna and the rinnegan. The 1st will surely lose to him as he is. But to give the 3rd more respect. Madara sees how strong ooniki is. Hes still fine fighting 5 wood clones with susanoo and still managed to save the raikage with no problem. Seeing this he needs to bring out his perfect susanoo. The 3rd was stated to be stronger than all kages at his time. Ooniki was alive during that time. Not stating the 3rd was better than the 1st. But if ooniki is that strong i wonder how much stronger the 3rd was

I didn't read the whole thread because these are just getting out of hand now but real quick on this one post/poster...you do bring up a good point but whether he bested him or not he still needed his DNA to reach the level he is at right now WHICH IS THE LEVEL everyone uses to make countless threads like these. So either logical way you look at it, I don't think we will ever actually know the real answer to the question: Did Hashirama really beat Madara in a fight that was 100% effort on both ends? And obviously also under the premise that most 1v1 battles are which is TO THE DEATH.

You guys r underestimatin hashi,y do u tink tobi,madara,danzou used his cells to boost themselves,i'm sure he has other jutsus up his sleeves nd he wil stil beat madara in his current state,even madara stil tinks of him til now as d perfect opponent.
Madara is a edo, has Hashirama's powers, and Rinnegan so obviously Hashirama would lose to him atm. Madara had lost the battle but he believes the real victor is the one who focused in the future
Madara had praised Hashirama so I highly doubt he would take a fight against Hashirama unserious.
Well 1st you have to take into account that Madara is stronger now then he was then. & he has no chakra worries because he is a Edo zombie.
The reason why the 1st did not seem has strong when he was a Edo zombie is 1 even though Madara is a Edo he is still using his own free will I mean he's not really being forced to fight the Kages. But the 1st will was taken away from him by Orochimaru so he wasn't using his "will of fire" which is what makes Leaf ninja strong.
& honestly I don't think Kishi thougt a head when he Edo summoned the 1st & 2nd Hokage's to how op Madara would be.
