i think the kyuubi was useless for madara against the 1st and who know's how much bijuu's the 1st had and he was the master of the wood style i think tenzo is sorta like kakashi tenzo has the special power the wood style but he don't have the amount of chakra the 1st had to do the really powerful jutsu's that are possible or to sustain it like kakashi he can use the ms but only once and after he does he can't do anything for like a week so we really have not seen what the wood style is capable of and madara told naruto he was like the 1st so maby the 1st allways just found a way to win even against impossible odd's

the 1st hokages his neckles can be justed to control al tails he knows spoiler about the tentials and his history madara has the bloodline of the eyes and the 1ste hokage has the gift to control the beats with his chakra

The 1st Hokage: Able to control all tailed beasts- Able to use earth and water elements creating the wood style with combo of the 2- His chakra is enormous and he uses his life force as well in manipulating that chakra- He was well versed in Genjutsu and his Tai jutsu was "G" as demonstrated when he sent the 3rd flying from a sick ass combo on top of the water his lil bro Hokage 2 created with a jutsu. When they say that Madara got the eyes of the Rikuudo Sannin and that Hirishima got the body it meant just that the 1st was able to predict Madaras moving knowing that Madara would predict his own so he was probably hella smart too thinking several stps ahead of Madara to time his jutsu to be affective and once more thee woold style is unpredictable you can't sense a freaking branch or root coming at you when you dealing with an onslaught from the 1st giving him the ability to attack Madara at different angles and the EMS is not like the Byakugan with a 360 field of vision so there is plenty of oppertunity to catch Madara off gaurd
Madara Uchiha: EMS- sick wit it genjutsu- tai jutsu ?- ninjutsu ? other than fire being the trade mark element of the uchiha- Space dimension control- but what else does he got. Beaten by both the 1st and the 4th and was overuled by his own people as he didn't want to form the alliance with the Senju why? He's a bitter man and Hirishima probably stole his chick along with his dignity looking at the evidence it is Quite easy to determine how or why the 1st would beat Madara Uchiha

but there is one small point I get the pupet story en stuff of the first and second but if the first used the tails to defeat madara than he could summon them or something or did he alwasy have a spare buji in his pocket and for yamato and his wood jutsu he lifted half of the ground and made a enormus waterfall I don't think you don't have almost the full power of the first.

If you see that chapter(set of chaps) again .. you'll notice that the reason sasuke joined sound was naruto .... He saw that naruto whom every1 considered a dumbass, is actually growing powerful very fast. Faster than him. You will notice that naruto hesitated in the fight and didnt land all of his punches ... Thats why even though Sasuke "Beat"(not really) Naruto he left. Cause he knew had naruto been serious he wouldnt have won at that time.

I think the 1st beat him because he new Madara he new how Madara fought since they where rival clans so i am sure the 1st studied Madara he new his strength's & weaknesses i think the 1st was just a better Ninja then Madara

IT'S simple The First took Madara's own pet and used it against him with the HELP OF HIS WIFE MITO. they probalay would have killed each other if the nine tails wasn't involved or the other tailed beasts

Well one reason he beat Madara is simply that Madara is not that strong
two the 3rd was the most powerful hokage and he had to use a suicide attack to win (it did not even win the fight as Oro lived)

It really makes me wonder.. how the hell did Hashi manage to beat him? Its quite the damn feat seeing as all we've been told about hashirama is that he can throw trees and heal himself without seals. Its defiantly an incredible feat if you ask me.
