No, you=twisting information to fit your own bias. When Sasuke and Hiruzen talked about Itachi, they didn't mention his skills. Therefore, since Hashirama died before Itachi was born, he can't know about his abilities. Therefore, he wasn't saying that Itachi was more skilled than him, because he didn't know about Itachi's skills.
