its 1 of the 3 major jutsu types it works on the mind and has no effects on the real world(except for some forbidden rank ones) the user can make the opponan t see small or hear what he wants the to hear see or feel. The user can use genjutsu to parralize the opponant or strike him while he is unawere
there are a few ways to overcome genjutsu
1-to feel pain if the user can make themselfs feel pain the genjutsu will be relesed
2-a friend can touch the user and make their chakra over power the genjutsu using opponant's chakra relesing the genjutsu
3-the user can use his own chakra to overpower the opponants(I think)

To cause pain or to stop the flow or pattern of ur chakra those are the only two wayz to stop a genjutsu but u can not go out of RP and say I recongize its a genjutsu and stab myself u gotta say how u recongize it. Genjutsu is all about time, planning, and strategy if your not a skilled ninja that thinks things through then genjutsu is not for you. Being a sharingan user is not for you if you wont learn genjutsu. Genjutsu is a big part of the sharingan and uchihas. Now answer this question what is genjutsu.

Its one of the 3 Main types of Jutsu And It has no physical effect it makes the opponant see, hear or feel things the user wants them to feel. It makes to opponant see thing that arent real.

Okay I want you to focus ur chakra around you. And on me focus the chakra into me from where ur standing creating an illusion of a false surronding like burger king or something just make it loook different from what it is now.

I focus on you focus making the area around us look like a make-out bar but in a few seconds its gone
I try again focus chakra int oyou make the area look like a make-out bar and tada I keep it going I can relese it andy thime now

Ok I focus and ggather my chakra then I start dissolving into sakura pedals but it doesnt work then Itry it again and plan a little this time thenI gather my chakra and dissolve into pedals completaly
