It's not a sun. It's the full moon. Full and crescent moons represent Ashura and Indra

Sasuke and Madara got cresent part of the staff..They were closer to darkness and Indra..Naruto and Obito got sun part of the staff symobilizing that they are close to Ashura

and if you look at sage's staff one side(what naruto's getting) is the sun, and what sasuke's getting is the moon...

And if you look at their jackets, the insignia on naruto's looks like the sun, and the top part of the uchiha sig on sasuke's back looks like the moon...


and... yes it's all related.
