He has but I don't believe he is smarter then jariya. But I believe jariya was a lot like him when he was young and he matured and got smarter but stayed a perv. I think naruto will do the same. Part of the reason naruto appears to be dumb is cuz he follows his heart

wow people keep underrating Jiraiya alot they Forgot that he has the Frogs summons
they Forgot that his Hair is even a deadly weapon and they forgot that he has a dangerous jutsu the one he used against Oro's snakes Earth Element jutsu thing Naruto has not counter for this jutsu

i'm not saying Jiraiya is stronger but Jeez naruto without Kyubi Cloak is not that strong
give the Kyubi inside Jiraiya body and see how beast he will be

i mean without them Nagato , Naruto , Minato , Sasuke , Tobi ( minato student who is in the same time jiraiya stundent ) , Konan

will be not that strong

Lol, few people here still underestimate Naruto Sage Mode.

As much as I like Jiraiya (he is together with Naruto and Hinata my favorite character), Naruto SM > Jiraiya SM too (thanks to stamina).

Sannin are the only Legendry team because they rely on their Unique techniques
without counting on a Biju or dojutsu and yet they're very Powerful

they're underrated on this site but other places as i saw they're Respected Amoung Fans

not to mention Jiraiya frogs was used by minato to Stop the Kyubi from his movement

no wonder why Kishi use the Sannin to train the 3 main characters ( Naruto , Sasuke , Sakura )
