honestly compared to the level of power we are at in naruto, jiraiya is a fodder. I don't know if I can say Kakashi > Jiraiya but Jiraiya had a lot of hype and now his hype has died down..... lol pun intended like died down like how jiraiya died down in the bottom of the ocean.

Taking Pain out isn't proof , because he had full intel which Jiraya did not have , so we don't know if he could actually take all the six by himself. Anyway it has already been stated that he surpassed Jiraya and by far IMO.
