I would have to agree, i think that they COULD possibly be pretty close to the 1st and 2nd hokages power/skill but the 1st kage was strong enough to fight madara,control the bijuu's and had a bloodline limit (to control wood i think) and the 2nd kage was really good with water.

Together they were really good for element combo attacks.

If Naruto and Sasuke learned a few more jutsus, and trained a little more, i would say that they would be stronger then anyone at kage lvl, they would be on their own lvl that surpasses that of the kages.

Naruto of course would still be the stronger of the two.

NOTE: the 3rd hokage was able to fight the 1st AND 2nd hokage PLUS Orochimaru, and he was like 80 yrs old and he beat the 1st and 2nd kage

note that those were not tha 1st and second hokage thy only had thr moves not thr charkra or strentha if thy did oro could of taken over tha leaf easily

In a quick and simple answer to this no they aren't as strong as them...yet.If you work it out on paper-the 1st beat madara- (naruto and sasuke can't lay a hand on tobi/madara as they can't match his teleportation jutsu,plus he has a way of putting out ameratsu),madara/tobi lost to the 4th as far as we know,naruto and sasuke wouldn't stand a chance against the 4th with his thunder god jutsu (this showing they are not yet hokage level but sannin level,sasuke defeated oro and naruto has just surpassed tsunade/jiraya and well lets face it tsunade doesn't compare to the other hokage there have been) As for someone mentioning sasuke beating the 2nd highly doubtful really,sasuke may have lightning but if I remember correctly (even if it was part of a filler) the 2nd had a special sword?This had the ability to absorb lightning?This combined with pulling water out of thin air,I'm pretty sure he had a way around ameratsu aswell being the best water user in the whole of naruto,plus the fact he was the hokage who pronounced the uchiha as konoha police???Do you not think if they could have beaten him they would have? Just my 2 cents

They've probably passed Tobirama Senju. The thing is lately his older brother has had new impressive feats added to his resume whilst Tobirama is still just known as an excellent water jutsu user. As for Hashirama Senju, well if he beat a EMS wielding Madara then Sasuke still has far to go I guess. Naruto is almost there as he needs to better control the Kyubi and maybe add another long range jutsu.
