I think he's one of the most underrated ninja out there probably because we've never seen him fight but he's not a legend for no reason. Also he's still alive so hopefully we get to see something from him in the future

What...? He isn't alive, and he can't be rated since we haven't seen enough of him.

He used the teleportation jutsu right before Natago attacked him.. so i'll assume he's alive since he has some skill

No doubt about him being strong....he can't be underrated if he took in multiple leaf ninja and the 3 legendary sannin...hell he gets the ultimate reputation if oro can't beat him alone

Hanzou is something .. He only withstood the battle with the Sannin because they fought long & hard to get to him in his own territory , which was an unfamiliar place to them. He had the locational advantage in that fight , just like Kabuto vs Uchiha Bros.

Nope, the dead Hanzo guy is perfectly rated.

Yes, Hanzo is very underrated.

This is a man that beat the Sannin, a team of at least Kakashi-level shinobi whom were famed not for their individual power, but for their flawless teamwork. And they in turn became famous for not winning against Hanzo, but surviving, and his words weighed so heavily that everyone regarded them as the Sannin ever since.

He embarrassed Mifune, the leader of the samurai, and once had the power to defeat Pein.

People are only considering Hanzo as he was shown in the war against the Shogun Mifune, and he was weakened and never got a chance to use any jutsus.

So basically until Mifune fights someone else that has feats and is impressive, everyone will remain to look down on Hanzo.

He got one shotted by pain and soloed by a fodder.

It's views like this which hold Hanzo down...

Hanzo was old and weaker when Pein killed him, in his pajamas in his home none the less.

Pein said that Hanzo wasn't as powerful as he used to be, Hanzo lost his convictions and his skills waned from years of isolation. Pein also said that Hanzo used to be powerful enough to have defeated him.

When Hanzo was resurrected, he was resurrected in his weakened state. Mifune also commented that Hanzo was not as powerful as the man that whooped him all those years ago, noticing that he lost his edge.

The sannin back then aren't even close to strong as they are now..... Mfune is kinda of a fodder...

Granted, but they were each around Kakashi-level back then. That's 3 high-Jonin/low-Kage level ninjas working together with great teamwork against a single foe, which is really what makes it so impressive.

Mifune is only considered fodder because:
1. He was given no hype.
2. His only feats are fighting Hanzo.

Hanzo is underrated simply because poison is underrated aswell. Hanzo himself is a poison, and his summon can do the same. He only lost to mifune because he resisted the edo tensei enough to halt kabutos control.
