I smile brightly. “Thank you again, senpai,” I say happily. I listen to Ushiro’s instructions before being completely distracted by this crab. “Well, that came out of nowhere!”
Regaining my focus, I face the crab. We stare each other down as though we’re taking part in a Western shootout. I charge up some chakra and make some fūton chakra. I remember Ushiro’s description of the technique, and I concentrate on the shape of a net. I smirk. It’s time to catch some crab! I weave the sequence of five handseals and inhale.
Fūton: Kakeami no Jutsu!
I exhale, and a wild gust of wind bursts out. It heads for the crab, and as it does, I use my chakra to transform the gust into a net. I add sharpness to my chakra in order to make the wind slicing and dicing. The technique hits the crab head on, and I can’t help but turn away a little as the wind takes the crab apart. When I look back, the crab is now in pieces, stacked neatly one top of one another. At the same time, I can’t ignore the rumble in my stomach as I look at the prepared crab.
I pay attention to Ushiro once more as he explains the next technique and tells me to find some firewood. I look around, wondering if there are any trees left intact after all of these jutsus I’ve performed. Luckily, I find a whole tree. It won’t stay that way for long. I use the fūton chakra that I’ve already molded, and I concentrate it into my right hand. I hold it slightly in front of me as I turn to face the tree.
“Fūton: Shinkūzan no Jutsu!”
I raise my hand up and wave it across my body, as though I was waving someone goodbye. I release my chakra as I do, making sure to release it from each of my fingertips. The chakra quickly becomes blades of wind. As they head for the tree with great speed, they come together to create a single scythe of air. The scythe is actually pretty huge. When it makes contact with the tree, it totally demolishes it, breaking and cutting it into a large pile of pieces. They all look very suitable to use for firewood.
Ushiro begins to cook his dinner before a cheeky group of Peins decides to descend upon him. He gives me the instructions to perform the last technique of this set and keep them at bay. With the amazing smell of cooked crab in my nose, I’m forced to comply, just for the small hope of maybe being offered some crab to eat. I do as Ushiro says, focusing my fūton chakra into my lungs. As I do, I inhale, and I use the chakra to increase the speed at which the air is flowing and create the vacuum effect Ushiro spoke of. The group of Peins is pulled toward me ever so slightly. As they come closer, I use my chakra to condense the air inside of me.
Fūton: Shinkūdama!
I exhale, using my chakra to form all of the air I put out into a wind bullet. It’s much more enormous compared to the previous, similar technique. It barrels toward the Peins with great speed and force. The bullet makes impact with and blasts them, sending them flying. Once there’s no longer a threat to Ushiro’s dinner, I look at him. My stomach growls loudly.
