I think the brother wrote it as well. He may talk to Sasuke but we'll see. It doesn't seem unlikely as the Sage was able to do great things and now he's able to travel to people's subconscious. Most likely because he was once a Juubi Jin. Since Hagoromo said his brother also sealed the Juubi in him, it wouldn't be far-fetched to say he's capable of the same things the Sage was.

Hagoroma is the father of Uchiha/Senju his brother is most likely Hyuga/Uzumaki why would the brother talk to Sasuke when he is nothing more than a distant uncle. It's been said a million times that the older brother believed power was the way to obtain peace since he had so much of it

Too bad, naruto is all cliche as u say. I would be surprised if hagoromo's brother is a good guy...there has to be a bad one amongst the 2...thats how it rolls
