thats not true at all, It doesnt ask whos stronger it just says vs. Dont be a jerk and assume things.

well as we saw in the manga gai beat kisame's arf back to finland and kisame lost so it is of course gai

Kisame wins he is able to go head on with the 4th tails and win and also fight killerbee and would have won if raikage didn't interrupt the fight also kisame has more chakra can regenerate physically I think they are the same in terms of speed guy but I go for kisame he his shown to be better and they have fought 3 times the first was in naruto no one won itachi and kisame ditched the fight the second gas won and only because it was a clone of kisame with 30% chakra and there last fight gas won but kisame was not aware the gain attack was just a normal fist

Gai won in the manga, but that was on top of the water. What if they had fought on land, where Kisame could make his huge water bowl? Gais movement would be slowed, and Kisame would be faster. What if Kisame had shamehada to fuse with as well? Would be interesting, but on top of water, funny as it is, Kisame is actually not having the upper hand U_U

I have to go with Gai.

Pretty obvious i would say, he took one of kisame's stronger underwater attacks "UNDER WATER", with pure force. Which just show's how bad ass he is in my opinion.

I can't wait it we see gai bust out the 8th inner gate, it will truly be a memorable moment in naruto.
