Guy vs Itachi, who's faster?

He doesn't use handsigns!? this is a foot race, over LONG distance, Kakashi beat Guy across a village by a milisecond,
This is a race from new york to pensylvania or transylvania or something, atm i can't remember the finish line, but Itachi would never beat Guy at that distance

Itachi should be at least slightly faster. 30% kisame clone was at least equal to base gai's speed.
But since this is more of a battle of endurance rather than speed, Gai will probably win.

I would put gai as slightly faster. Gai has trained himself in conditions like this; after all, he runs laps around the village all the time.
Kisame isn't as fast as guy even in his regular form. He was more known for his great chakra and strength, not his speed.

I think people seriously overrate gai and lee's speed. They were fast compared to part 1 fodders and konoha 12, but compared to the konoha 12 and enemies now, their base speed is not anything amazing.
Deidara is able to give lee, gai, neji, and ten ten the slip.
umm.... you should re-watch the 30% kisame vs base gai fight. Kisame is keeping up with gai just fine, and is able to hit gai not because of his raw power but because his speed at least matches gai's. Gai only gains a noticeable speed advantage over kisame once he goes 6 gates.

People underrate their speed since they are not main characters or very important in the storyline right now. The databooks (and yes this is actually relevant and correct in that time period) say that guy is faster than kisame.
Deidara used bombs to cover his escape.

By the way, Itachi in this race is at maximum health, robust strength, very vigorous and intense speed and very energetic, like he would have been had he been healthy, and trained to develop his strength under adequate circumstances, MEANING NO ILLNESS

Because they are racing across states and long distances I might give it to guy only because he has more chakra and stamina than Itachi does.
Who is faster base speed though? That is undoubtedly Itachi. Base speed Itachi is faster than anyone other than Minato or possibly A.

Base speed? No way. Kakashi and Guy are about even in Base speed, and Itachi made Kakashi look slow.
Secondly Itachi manhandled Sasuke in taijutsu, and the shuriken battle (because he was fast enough to make a clone while throwing shuriken) and Sasuke was able to fight Mifune with a sword. Mifune, if you don't recall, is so fast that his signature ability is bumrushing his opponent while they are making hand signs.
Making hand signs is incredibly easy and fast, so if Mifune can do that to disrupt ninjutsu, and Sasuke was able to block his sword attacks, that means that Sasuke is somewhere near Mifune's speed.
So as said by Kakashi and Sasuke, Itachi is much faster than either of them, and Sasuke is considered to be one of the fastest ninjas around. (remember when we first saw Sasuke in Shippuden and only Yamato saw Sasuke move down to their group?)
And as you are probably aware, those with the sharingan can copy speed. Sasuke did it to Lee, as high speed was a requirement for using Chidori at that time. (Itachi doesn't need this as he is already faster than Base Guy though)
Please tell me where Base Guy has speed feats. So far he has none, he fought for like two minutes against Kisame in their second fight in base mode (on the lake when Team Guy was in the water dome), and then needed the Gates to catch up to Kisame on that giant turtle island.

Speed is one of the few things that you can without a doubt use that A>B>C logic because speed isn't like strength and doesn't have weaknesses and advantages.

lee and guy had this weights in their legs for training purposes. remove that, you'll get guy's "base" speed.
where did you get that sharingan copies speed?lol. it copies jutsu's but not speed.
guy's training his whole life in taijutsu, no way itachi can win this one.
