Guren, Needles move was useless, but then when he appeared near you you zapped him, (Since there was no smoke, you saw him) Nicely done. Then you finished him with an explosion. Great.
SinRival, if you stoped your substitution jutsu to create a gust of wind, then you didn't block the lightning attack, since it was done before. As you're stunned, don't think you can do much, so you're defenceless to the explosions.
