As we all know, oda uses lots of Japanese mythology, as does a lot of mangaka.

Now the 3 calamities (Jack, Queen, King) or kaidos strongest 3 "commanders" also translates to the 3 disasters.

In Japanese mythology the 3 disasters were, drought, locusts, and storms.

Jack is a ancient zoan, a mammoth, that basically causes earthquakes destroying everything around him basically causing a drought.

Queen, I'm guessing would be some kind of mother type insect that could create locusts??? , but if jack doesn't bring a drought by depleting resources, but instead by just destroying it all, then maybe the queen would instead of causing locusts would have the same ability to plague everything and make everyone sick, like a venomous creature? What are your opinions?

King, so like I said with Jack before about causing a drought in a different way, instead of being a creature that brings storms , like a dragon, what if he was a raiju?

"In Japan, thunder and lightning were the elements of the Raijū, or literally “thunder beast,” the mighty servants of the Shinto god of thunder. These creatures were most often described as looking something like a badger, weasel, cat, or fox, although they were sometimes said to look like a wolf or monkey as well. Some accounts speak of the creatures having wings, or having multiple tails. They are quite often dramatically depicted as being wreathed in crackling tendrils of lightning, and their voices were said to boom like thunder. Raijū were said to descend to the earth upon lightning bolts, to ride atop lighting, or to travel about in hovering balls of lightning. Typically the Raijū were said to be fairly docile in nature, but during storms would become extremely agitated and aggressive, ignite with lightning, and frantically dash about leaping from tree to tree, tearing up the bark in the process with their formidable claws. In old Japan it was said that trees scored by lighting had been the work of Raijū claws, and that scorched tree trunks were the result of their wrath."

Also sounds alike like the minks huh, making king, King of the minks.

Your thoughts?

It really bothers me that people act like it's a proven fact that the other two Calamities are called King and Queen. Till further notice that's just a hypothesis.

Secondly does Japanese mythology really have some kind of trinity of calamities? I'm not particularly familiar with Japanese myths, but it seems to me you're being very lenient here with the interpretation of them. I find it hard to believe that a country like Japan would choose locusts and storms over earthquakes and tsunami's considering their history. Not to mention in most mythologies lightning storms are more oft than not associated with divinity, not with a calamity and the Japanese ones don't seem to be an exception on that.

Also storm and lightning abilities have been overused quite a lot already in One Piece, so we really don't need yet another one. Enel in particular had a strong Raijin-theme going for him.

I like the idea of the 3 Calamities being an Ancient Zoan,Regular Zoan and Mythical Zoan.

So...
Jack - Ancient Zoan Mammoth
Queen - Normal Zoan Insect
King - Mythical Zoan Raiju
