So I've seen quite a few places and heard from some people about how Green Lantern is gay now. Those people clearly only got their information in a passing source, so for all the casual fans let me just clarify something, and yes I am gonna go nerd here.
Alan Scott being written as a gay man is taking place in Earth 2 which is not the Universe of DC continuity. Simply put this is an alternate timeline and alternate version of Alan Scott living at the same time as Earth 1 Alan Scott. The original/real Alan Scott is still the same as he always has been and is still father to a gay son. I've been hearing quite a few people who aren't really into comics making comments about it so I thought I'd clear the air. Mostly because Green Lantern has all the potential to be a boss character and really popular if handled correctly.
Which leads me to another thing, the Ryan Reynolds movie while not exceptionally good or bad messed up on one key characteristic. Hal Jordan was not the first Human Green Lantern, Alan Scott was.
