Why do so many of you "rational" people get soooo upset when someone mentions Tobi might be Obito? There's no reason it couldn't be, except for you don't want it to be. And for you conclusion jumpers, before you cream yourself, I do not believe Tobi is Obito I believe as I have for awhile now that Tobi is someone who's name and backstory will be introduced at the same time his face is. I also don't rule out that it could be a past character who's story has not been developed as of yet.

The timelines don't match, it would be ridiculous. I'm not ruling out Obito; however, that last chapter gave me a new hope for him to be Tobi.

Obito was theoretically dead BEFORE the nine tails attacked the village. Also if you've ever read a comic you'd know no one is dead until the book's done.

Why do you assume Izuna or Kagami for that matter would be stronger than a grown up Obito? If Obito survived it's pretty typical for ninjas to get stronger as they age. Your argument of him being weak is invalid. Also, if you took the time to notice, Obito is just like Naruto. Same hair style same color scheme(just reversed) same attitude same skill level early on.

The timelines only don't match IF Obito was BOTH masked men. I don't understand why people act like the masked man that fought Minato HAS to be the same masked man as now, That's why they have masks so new people can take over the mantle without many people knowing the original is gone. An image is just as powerful as an attack sometimes.

This isn't a thread about who Tobi is. It's a thread about why people get themselves so worked up over other people believeing a fictional character may turn out to be another fictional character. Step your comprehension game up.

So are you saying Tobi is Orochimaru? 'Cus I'm not against that just wasn't really sure what you were driving at, you mentioned a few characters. I like that you mentioned Danzo though because I thought of something a few days ago about Tobi possibly being Danzo's brother(or root brother) and Oro helped Danzo get the skills for Izanagi, maybe Tobi as well.

Yea, me getting worked up over peoples misplaced anger is not a fictional problem like "what Tobi's real identity is" If you truly believe that it's wrong to get worked up over people displaying irrational anger then I bet you'd support the holocaust as well.

The timeline works just fine if its Obito's body, just his head. It could be a gooey zetsu body at around the time he fought the fourth.

There used to be lots of "wars" that raged on this subject here at NB. A shit load of evidence have been posted in those "wars" that makes it seem next to impossible for Kishi to make Obito Tobi. Read some of those older threads and you'll see why so many are so against it.

Exactly. I can't say who it might be, but I couldn't blame anyone for bringing up Obito anymore for after seeing him talking to Kakashi and Guy the way he did. Even I said "Obito?" to myself after reading it. He is playing with their head or he really knows them personally. Either way there's no need for anyone to blow up when someone mentions Obito. It's the main the reason I don't post much on here. :y

Maybe "badass" was the wrong word to use because we never saw his powers. But he did serve on Danzo's team in the war, the same team that was partnered with Hiruzen's team and worked with the 2nd Hokage, so he has to be some sort of "badass".
