I agree with this, but Gaara's ultimate defense was penetrated multiple times by both Susuke and Dediaria. While Susuke's defense has never been penetrated.

Well technically Danzo messed it up but that wasn't penetration, he created a vacuum to suck it into his summons. And that was an incomplete version of Susanoo. Itachi's Susanoo was way better.

Anyway Susanoo is a much much better defense than Gaara's sand. It actually does protect from stuff and no matter how fast you are it is still going to be there when you attack. The amount of chakra each takes is the only real problem with that.

Gaara , Amateratsu can not burn through it ,so he can jsut stand there doing nothing while sasuke is getting his chakra sucked .

about deidara getting through it , Sasuke has only 1 jutsu similar to deidara's

Kirin , which takes up a hell lot of chakra and time

but if he lands it , gaara is just finished , right there

but As itachi said - every jutsu has a weaknesss , do not overestimate or underestimate susanoo until yuo actually see it in action with a Ninja with strong attacking jutsus

Kirin is natural lightning controlled by chidori so it takes almost no chakra besides set up
