I've never seen it. Haven't had the opportunity. Doesn't matter though I spoiled myself rotten with Wikipedia so I know all what happens. It's really sad. I'm not eager to watch it because I'm sure it will make me cry.
Although, I recently read a book called "best new manga" which is a collection of one-shot mangas by not so famous aspiring mangakas. There was one comic, called another summer day, in which it told the stories of three pairs of children living in England, Germany, and Japan. Throughout the story they drop hints as to the exact time period the children are living in. These clues include the fact that two of the pairs of children are siblings, and their fathers are away fighting in a war. The third pair of kids, living in Japan, has snuck out of their home to play and gotten into trouble with an officer by accidentally spilling paint on him. Just as the officer calls the kids worthless and tells them they should just disappear, a panel is shown where an airplane is dropping a bomb. The children notice the bomb just as there is a flash of bright light, and panels are shown of each pair of children living in their respective countries. The last pair was killed by the bomb.
They were living in Hiroshima during World War II.
