OPverse is way too big. if kishi had drawn that many characters in NV, his art would have also s****d.

Yea.. a lot of those characters are inspired or based on numerous other real life persons or other comic character so what of it? Most of them have little impact on the reader once they are out of sight. Unless you are a geek mode to keep track of them all it's just cluttering. Naruto on the other hand focuses on the inner struggle of a small number, rather than spreading it across too many insignificant characters. How one small moment or approach to a conflict can change course of history and events or how the actions of the previous generations can shape and mold the personalities of the present characters and their future are better portrayed this way.

Anyway - No need too get worked up since it was the anime art taken from frames was being discussed. Using examples from the same anime won't convey that message fully. If someone is going to use clips from Pain arc ( which was actually also anime art style of a particular artist involved in those episodes and he is known for his distinct way of expression and even appreciated by a section) that it's only natural that their visions is broadened about how these things can go in animes.

You've read part 1 Naruto without a complaint and now because a new style comes in that's different from what you're used to, it's automatically bad?

Actually besides Boruto's face (he has a big grin by the way, that does distort your face) the art is actually pretty good. Look at dat "realistic" jawline on Sasuke. It's not your typical pointy anime chin and the new sand siblings down there are nicely drawn as well. Whatever Ino's kids name is, he is supposed to have a kinda round plain face and Chocho is drawn very well too. Shikadai and Lee look bad***, it's funny how nobody mentions the good art but takes time to criticize the flaws in it when they could do no better.

Ace death helped Luffy to become strong.
Smoker is like Garp who is continously chasing Luffy.
Dragon is the Most Wanted Guy in OPverse.
Kaido is The strongest Man in OPverse who has just declared war.
And I can never forget guys like Arlong, Doflamingo, Enel (they were some of the best villains in manga).

Kishi is lazy. this is the reason why K11 was never developed. less characters=less guys fighting the villain of that particular arc.
On the other hand Oda has created so many unnecessary characters so that everyone in Straw hats develop properly and people donot say it was a asspull in future.

How one small moment or approach to a conflict can change course of history and events or how the actions of the previous generations can shape and mold the personalities of the present characters and their future are better portrayed this way.

I have been regularly reading OP for more than 4 years now- started 7-8 years ago, dropped it in between and picked it again in late 2011. You are not making any sense in context of what I said. Read that again.

SH development is snail placed and really marginal. And it's not called giving time for character development when most of the development is only physical and in terms of power. People do no say it's ass pull because OP doesn't take it seriously enough to begin with. Frankie could make stairs in the air without any support and when asked where he got his tools from Oda replied he kept it in his pants ( those who have seen Frankie's pants...). Kuma air force can fly people to their desired destination and it can just happen. In such a loosely built verse where anything is possible to add any time and people cannot even remember everything due to the size and number of the characters it's kind of pointless to claim whether there are aspulls or not.

Otherwise one would question why was Shanks so weak just a few years ago that he had to lose his hand in saving Luffy. How someone at Crocodile's level was even be a Shichibukai. Moriah's power took some rewriting to adjust his fighting during the day time and what not. These are the simple retcons that are pretty normal in long drawn series.

The issue is that this new artist is taking on another artist's work. If this artist was not continuing such a popular manga then we wouldn't judge the art so badly...but this guy is messing up extremely beloved characters. Characters that already have certain personality traits and designs set in place. Boruto just looks really bad for a main character. Out of everyone Boruto should have been drawn the best. His whole design looks really childish, especially with that outfit he has on now. And Sarada's look is not reflecting her personality at all. It's very clearly fan service...If anything we have a right to be annoyed about the fan service.

I'll give the artist another chance when I see the first monthly manga. I hope the story is still good regardless..but these aren't good signs.
