Jada Pinkett Smith Joins The Cast Of ‘GOTHAM’!
Gotham has been rolling out casting announcements as often as Batman throws his batarangs. We’ve gotten so many announcements that, while we try to process the announcement, another gets released!
And so staying true with the series’ recent pattern, today we get the announcement from Entertainment Weekly that Jada Pinkett Smith has been cast in the show as well. Now, you may be wondering who exactly she’ll be playing, as the obvious choice would be Catwoman, right? No. In fact, Mrs. Smith will be playing…Fish Mooney…

Mooney is a character that isn’t even in the Batman lore or comics, Schmoeville. She’s an entirely new creation, made just for this show. In the announcement, she was described as the following:
“A sadistic gangster boss and nightclub owner, she’s got the street smarts and almost extra-sensory abilities to read people like an open book. Imposing and hotheaded, she’s not one to be crossed.”
GOTHAM is Fox’s Batman prequel following Det. James Gordon as he begins his career in the Gotham City Crime Force. It will star Ben McKenzie, Robin Lord Taylor, Donal Logue, and more.
I'm excited for this show , I couldn't get into The Shield , so I hope my favorite comic world doesn't let me down .
