The google redirect virus, is basically just a virus which prevents google from operating normally,
in other words: it makes google unable to redirect..

the regular: won't work
But: will..

Anyone know how to fix this problem?
The virus and malware software can't detect it..~_~

I have Windows [XP]..and since two weeks ago
Alright, Go to "start" the "all programs" then "accessories" then "system tools" then look for the one that says "system restore".

a new window will open, click on the option that says "restore my computer to an earlier time"

this will show you dates of the months and all, click on the OLDEST DATE YOU CAN or ANY DATE BEFORE YOU STARTED EXPERIENCING THAT PROBLEM.

that SHOULD solve it. if not then you're beat mate

First of all, antivirus can't help that much with this one.

You have to isolate where the virus is.

Download Malwarebytes, it'll find where the virus is, but it won't delete it. Go to the file and delete it manually.

If it says the directory is non-existent, go to run and type %[name of the directory, not the path here]%

If it says you can't delete it because it's attached to a service, disable the service from start-up, restart, and then try and delete it.

My brother had this problem a few weeks ago. : P

By the way, we tried every other possible solution, it didn't work for us.

We had to basically feel around in the dark until we isolated it, so this might not be the exact way to fix it for you.

I think you guys can try TDSS killer which is free from Kaspersky. If the TDSS killer cannot work, you may try manual removal instructions: blog.teesupport.com/tdsskiller-wont-run-how-to-remove-google-redirect-virus-if-tdsskiller-wont-run

1st attempt you should make is.

Download malwarebytes

Install it, do a scan and remove it.

If that doesn't work

Try this program then

If it still doesn't find it then follow this guide.

If that still doesn't work

Click Start> Click "computer"> Go to the adress bar and go to each location below, one by one and if anything is there delete it.
