No it didn't he could have definitely killed Buu during that battle he even said he didn't because he wanted the new generation (Goten and Trunks) to do so, I wouldn't call him an anti hero but he definitely made some retarded decisions.

What if he returned to the afterlife? And another incident occured? You can't rely on inexperienced fighters. That's why he wanted them to try for the first time.

i know Goku is a childhood favorite, but i doubt that is becuase of who he is, everyone just seems to like him for his power not who he is.

1- Him sparing Vegeta actually showed his kindness Goku never thought he'd meet him again what he said was it would be a shame to kill vegeta and maybe sparing him would cause him to turn over a new leaf. Why do you think he tried to reason with raditz so many times?

2- This is just dumb Goku didn't know Frieza was still alive, why would he purposely let his friends die? And if you payed attention to Trunks timeline Goku got there in time to save all of them since they were all alive in the future.

3-What? Did you forget that goku was sick and unable to do anything at that time?

Majin buu was able to reproduce himself since he was made out of some gum like material,

And also all the innocent lives who did get lost during the show, they were all brought back by the dragon balls( no homo :|) so I don't see the fkign problem

Goku made bad decisions but he was definitely a hero. He wanted his friends and family to be able to defend themselves during the Buu Saga. He felt like a dead man had no right to be doing what he was doing and wanted the next generation to handle their own problems. Also, would an anti-hero waste time to get the Dragonballs to revive people if all he cared about was his pride?

How is Naruto an idiot? Cause he used to have that happy go lucky attitude. Come on now you have to admit we all do stupid shit from time to time. But we've seen Naruto's character development and how much he's grown. The only time I felt as though Naruto was an "idiot" was when he was 12 years old.

goku isnt a anti hero as he will always save the day but with that said he would choose the challenge over fixing the problem before it starts like in the android arc when bulma and krillan said to look for the dragon balls and find the location of the lab and destroy it and prevent the androids ever coming to be yet goku and vegata didnt want that as they wanted the challenge
so i wouldn't say goku is the greatest hero ever but he is a decent one

2) Defeated Piccolo (the first time) risking his life by drinking the poisen to bring back his friends and save the world.
3) Defeated Piccolo (the second time) without killing him to protect Kami-sama and the world.

5) Risked his life in Namek to get revenge for his friend and crush Frieza's pride because he thought that would end it.
6) He didn't just "let his friends" handle Frieza and Cold when they came to earth. Trunks and Cell's arrival messed with the timeline as he was supposed to arrive to earth before Frieza and Cold but Trunks arrived before him. He was planning to use IT to arrive before Frieza does anything but he sensed Trunks and knew he was stronger than Frieza so he let him take care of it. Also, the portion of Frieza using the attack to destroy Earth and Trunks catching it with one hand was filler and only happened in the anime.
7) Sacrificed his life to protect Earth from Cell's explosion.
