Chapter 4: Awakening
I stood in the center of the dark room. I was blindfolded. I was wearing nothing but a pair of shorts. I could feel the nature energy comming off of the wooden tree walls. The slugs around me. I was perfectly still, yet alert. My once shoulder leangth red hair grew with every second as more and more senjutsu chakra formed inside of me. The hair grew until I could feel it touching the floor. It took me three years. But I had finally mastered perfect Sage mode. The great slug sage sat on a platform behind me.
Suddenly I blocked and incomming arrow. I parryed it with my hand and it flew past me without doing any harm. More arrows flew at me. I simply ducked and dodged out of the way. I streamed senjutsu chakra through my hair and used them as weapons to shatter arrows before they could even come close. An arrow flew past my arm, leaving a deep cut. I focused my chakra and the wound quickly closed and healed.
"Good now show your streangth! Destroy the target!" Lady sage called out to me. The target was a massive log inside the chamber. My hair flung out and ensnared the log, growing even longer to ecomidate my distance. I performed several handsigns and unleashed a massive fireball onto my hair.
"Senpo! Wrath of the Flaming Dragon's Mane!" The fire traveled across my hair with incredible speed. The log then caught fire and burst into a raging inferno. I pulled out a kunai and quickly cut off the flaming hair. My hair dropped down and was once again shoulder leangth without even a singe.
"Enough! You have passed your test. I am proud to call you a sage Zenkutsu," said lady sage.
"Thank you sensei!" I replied.
"Your training is done. But there is something I must show you before you," she said as a box suddenly appeared. I walked up to it and opened the chest. Inside was a beautiful ring staff and a Magatama neclace.
"What are these?" I asked.
"Those are for you to take. They were posessions once held by the great Rikudo Sennin himself," she answered.
"Realy? But they must be incredibly precious.Why do you have them? Why are you giving them to me?" I asked.
"The Rikudo Sennin was once my master along with the great Toad Sage and the Great Snake sage. He gave these to me before he died and told me to give them to one who shared his eyes. When I first saw you, I knew you were special. You bear the same eyes that my master did all those years ago. I believe that you may even be the great sage, reborn to bring peace to the world. These items will help you further develope your powers and will bring you a step closer to fulfilling your destiny. Now go," she said before I picked up the staff and began to wear the neclace. I bowed and proceeded out. Walking out of the forrest and begining to take the road ahead of me.
