Chapter 2: Madara
Nagato began talking more and more about creating peace in the world. He talked about things that I was uncomfortable in supporting. I kept my 8 year old Zenkutsu away from him while he talked like this. Zenkutsu had already mastered Paper ninjutsu and a few years ago he awakened his Rinnegan as well as many of Nagato's elemental Ninjutsu. He was a prodigy. However, he simply could not grasp the path abilities, which greatly annoyed Nagato.
Nagato had begun talking with a man from the Hidden mist about a possible strategy for achieving peace. Though whenever they spoke, Nagato requested I stay out of it.
One day I was surprised to hear that he wanted me present. When I first saw the man, I noticed he had few noticably characteristics. He wore a black cloak and black gloves. He had short black hair and his face was covered in an orange mask with one eye hole on his right side. Through the eye hole, I could see a strange red eye with 3 black tamoe. I stood slightly behind Nagato, observing the man I knew so little about.
"Hello Konan, Nagato has told me so much about you," his deep voice eminated from behind the mask.
"Funny, for I have heard so little of you," I replied with a scowl. Nagato glared at me, his eyes commanding me to be quiet.
"Well there is not much about me to talk about," he replied in his same monotone voice. "All you need to know of me is my name. I am Madara Uchiha."
The name was familiar. Jiraiya sensei had told us some of Konohagakure's history. Including the famed Uchiha and Senju clans. This man claimed to be one of the early leaders of the Uchiha clan.
"It was my understanding that Madara Uchiha was dead," I replied, questioning his every move.
"It was my understanding that the Rinnegan did not exist," he replied with a light chuckle at the end. "Not everything is so easy to understand."
He was mocking me at this point. This supposed Madara continued to talk to Nagato.
"As I have mentioned before, the best way of going about peace is by obtaining all of the tailed beasts," madara said.
"With the Bijuu in our possesion I could create the ultimate Ninjutsu that could level a nation in an instant. Such power is the key to peace," Nagato explained. I simply kept quiet,not wanting to over step my boundary again.
"Using your Gedo Mazo, it is possible to contain the chakra of all 9 tailed beasts by ripping them out of their Jinchuriki. However at this rate we will not have the strategic streanght to simply waltz into any nation and take the Jinchuriki. They are very strong," Madara explained.
"You are implying we make an army? Pain is an army that can destroy entire Nations," Nagato responded.
"True but we must not attract to much attention to ourselves. We should have 10 or so members. One for each finger of the Gedo Mazo. We can operate in groups of 2. We can assemple rouge ninja and the like from all ninja of the world. S-class or higher. Only the most powerful and skilled shinobi. I have two that are already willing to join. Kisame Hashigake of the Hidden mist's 7 swordsmen, and Zetsu who can act as an excellent spy," said Madara.
"Pain needs nobody to fight for him! Pain does not need you or any other outsider!" I screamed at the man. He simply glared at me with that one eye. My body froze and I could not move. He raised his hand and struck me hard across the face and I tumbled to the floor.
"Learn your place, woman," said Madara. I looked up at Nagato, but he simply glared at me.
Out of nowhere Madara went flying and struck the wall hard on his back. I looked to see if if was Nagato, but he was as surprised as I was. Suddenly, I heard breathing coming from the door. There stood Zenkutsu, his hand out and his Rinnegan fixed on Madara.
"Ah, this must be your son, Zenkutsu. Nagato, I thought you said he hadn't developed his Rinnegan yet," Madara said as he stood and glared at Zenkutsu.
"I didn't know he had...Zenkutsu! Leave NOW!" Nagato screamed.
"How dare you hit my mother?! I will make you suffer for that," Zenkutsu screamed as he lunged towards Madara. Madara simply stood there as Zenkutsu attacked. Zenkutsu tried to attack but he simply passed right through. Nagato and I were both stunned.
"Hm, you cannot harm me, child," Madara said as he turned around to face Zenkutsu. Zenkutsu without losing a step, turned around and lunged again. Mechanical arms sprouted from his sides as began to attack more furiously. His every attack passing though Madara, but every attack was followed by another. Zenkutsu never faultered and continued to attack mercilously. Madara simply laughed.
A few minutes went by. Madara was now on the evasive. Trying to jump out of the way, but every time Zenkutsu would keep up and continue his assult. Finally, after 5 minutes, Zenkutsu's fist colided with the Madara's face and sent him sprawling. I noted this as I watched helplessly.
Zenkutsu was still, watching as the man stood up. He waited and prepared for his counter attack. Madara looked at him with that red eye. He grunted and his eye pulsed. Zenkutsu's arms fell down. His eyes were wide and he stood there, almost in pain.
"This genjutsu should keep you quiet for a bit. Nagato, you should learn to control your child bette-" Madara said but was cut off by Zenkutsu who was grunting and shaking. Zenkutsu looked at Madara, his entire body twitching. Veins began to bulge as his rinnegan pulsed. His hands clentched into fists. He took a step forward. Slowely he took another step and another. This walk turned into a sprint as he charged and threw Madara hard into the wall again.
"How can this be? How did you resist my Genjutsu?! Not even the 9 tails could resist my eyes!" Madara screamed as he slammed into the wall and disipeared. Zenkutsu suddenly went flying and slammed into the wall, hitting his head and falling unconscious. Nagato's hand was held out and had slammed Zenkutsu with Shinra Tensei. Madara re-appeared.
"Nagato! Get your woman and your child out of my sight!" he screamed. Before Nagato could say anything I ran and grabbed Zenkutsu and carried him out and to my room. Holding my child and crying.
