The retcon is pretty damn obvious. Suigetsu was literally hiding in fear because he saw Hashirama, and didn't call him the GOS once, but up to three times. Hiruzen, on the other hand, received absolutely no praise or recognition, and instead the only reason he's even relevant here is because his title was handed to Hashirama.

Well TobisPawn what happened to you? Weren't you the one who made threads about How Oro's Edos were at full power and How strong Hiruzen's Shadow clones were compared to Naruto's??

Hashirama fans always said that Hiruzen having a nickname didn't mean anything, but when it comes to Hashirama having the nickname, it matters so much all of the sudden.

Hiruzen's clones stay the same, but Hashirama's strength is an obvious retcon. I've realized that after seeing how much he's been hyped, and comparing that to his terrible Part 1 performance.

Erm, no. It's because Hiruzen got his nickname, what, 6 years ago? Back when he was the strongest Hokage. But it's kind of an obvious retcon, and Hashirama's the strongest while Hiruzen's descended into irrelevancy.
