Lightning is one of the five basic elements. High chakra vibrations allow the lightning to be generated. It can be used for piercing, increasing movement speed, and paralyzing targets, making them unable to move thus leaving them vulnerable to a finishing blow. Similar to the Wind element, Lightning chakra can be infused into blades to add piercing power and inducing numbness. This can be effective on users who turn themselves in Water forms. A normal kunai would just pass through them, while a Lightning induced one can shock them. It also appears that Lightning element requires more chakra than the other elements, thus leading to quick exhaustion.
-Lightning is strong against earth because it can easily travel through and break the ground apart
-Lightning is weak against wind because it is a natural electrical insulator.
-Since Water conducts Electricity, a Water tech can be used to increase the damage of a Lightning tech.

"Aye, very well spoken, ye' covered pretty much everything. Now we will move onto chakra manipulation."
Thunder clouds begin to roar around us, powerful bolts of natural lightning striking down around us.
"Lightning is a powerful element, one capable of delivering devastating effects; So devastating in-fact, that at times it can jeopardize your own well being at times. So, we must first establish understanding and control over lightning. We'll take it one step at a time."
I hand you a piece of chakra paper.
"Simply begin by focusing some Raiton chakra into that paper, in reaction, the paper should crinkle up on its own. We've already established how it is you mould raiton chakra, so I expect you already know how to do this."
*I place the paper in my hand and close my eyes. I focus my chakra and think of the lighting that surrounds us. I feel the lightning's savage and free nature. My chakra begins vibrating rapidly, and tiny sparks begin forming in my hand as it passes through the paper. The result crinkles the paper and I feel my hand get zapped by the sparks*

"Anyways, now that you did that, I want you to focus lightning chakra to your fingertips. It should be crackling, and it should be a visible chakra."
Woops my mistake Sempai. I overhype things alot
*I stare at my fingertips as the lightning continue to clash around us. I send my lightning chakra into my fingertips and have it vibrate frequently. I notice the chakra becoming more visible and making a crackling sound*

"Now, moulding chakra the same way, I want you to focus it into a single kunai in order to increase its vibrating frequency, and thus increase its overall cutting power.
After wards, throw it at that tree over there, and it should break right through and continue onwards."
*Kunai in hand, I once again begin to send chakra into my hands and have it vibrate frequently. As I see the Lightning chakra forming, I start to infuse it into the Kunai while increasing the vibration. I feel the energy around the Kunai, it's sharpness increasing. I turn to the tree on my right and launch the Kunai at it. I watch in amazement as the Kunai travels quickly toward the tree and cuts through it with ease*

Good, you just learned your first Raiton jutsu:
As we know, lightning jutsu deal with vibrating frequencies that give the techniques intense cutting power. Although lightning isn't necessarily solid, and can't really be touched per say, it also isn't intangible, and serves better for blunt force piercing attacks (As opposed to the type of cutting or piercing power offered by wind style). On top of that, the lightning techniques are like the electric impulses we receive from our own nerves, which is why when we get hit with Raiton, our bodies mistake the electricity for nerve impulses, and tense up causing paralysis. Knowing such information, even the weakest of jutsu can be put to excellent use.
"Now, onto the next technique which is a bit more difficult. I want you to slam your hand on the ground, focusing raiton chakra from your hand into the ground below. Remember to feed it a constant chakra supply, as many people forget to do such. Then have it travel through the ground, and up use it to shock my clone who is coming at you ready to strike (Too add on the pressure). If you don't get it right, he'll punch you."
*Creates clone who rushes towards you*
*As I see your clone rush me, I gather Raiton chakra into my hands and slam them on the ground. I focus the chakra into the ground. Once infused with the ground I continue to pump the Raiton chakra into it and have it travel towards your clone. As the Raiton and your clone begin to intercept, I send in more chakra and have the Raiton rise up and shock the clone's feet*

Good, and now onto the next technique.
"Now what I want you to do is to release your raiton chakra from your pores, and cause it to form around you like a blanket of focused lightning, one which on contact will electrocute my clone, and very temporarily paralyze him."
*Creates clone*
*I begin channeling my Raiton chakra, feeling it flow in my body. I concentrate on having it raise to the surface of my skin. Once risen, I release the chakra out of my body and start manipulating it so that it surrounds me like a shield. Keeping it focused and steady, I approach your clone and grab him. The electricity flows into him, thus electrocuting and paralyzing him*

"Obviously, if someone is coming towards you intent on using Taijutsu, you could use this technique to briefly shock them and to throw them off enough to leave a window in which you could counter.
Now this next technique is similar in principle to the prior technique, except for the fact that on contact it will cause a small explosion. Make sure to perform the technique in such a way that it does not hurt you, but only slightly hurts my clone."

*hmmmm. I once again channel my Raiton chakra throughout my body and release it through my pore. I manipulate it so that is surrounds my body. I dash toward your clone. As I approach near him I reach out to touch him, I expell the Raiton shield outwards as it explodes to send your clone flying while I jump back to mid range in order to avoid the explosion radius*

Good, and now what I want you to do is to materialize small bolts of lightning, and send them flying at my clone. On contact, they should serve to briefly paralyze him and cause him to dissipate.

*I concentrate and start to channel my lightning chakra into my hands. Focusing deeply, I start manipulating the lightning around my hands. After a few seconds the lightning starts to materialize. I draw my attention to your clone and swing my hands. Small lightning bolts are fired out of them and sent flying toward the clone. Once hit, the clone appears briefly paralyzed before feeling the burns and eventually dissipates.*

Defend and counter with Lightning
*I begin by releasing the Raiton chakra out of my body and start manipulating it so that it surrounds me like a shield. Because your clone's punch is wide and obvious I am able move between you and your arm. Surrounded by lightning, I grab his wild swing with my right hand, and thus he is shocked. While being shocked I punch him with my Lightning infused left hand in the gut, thus sending in more lightning into him*

Good. Now, you see hoe you can utilize such lightning techniques in short range? By stopping a punch, and following up with an abrupt lightning shock, you can temporarily tense up an opponents muscles, and follow up with a powerful attack to a pressure point. My favorite pressure point is the Solar Plexus, throughout almost every taijutsu fight I'm in I will probably try to strike you there at least once.
Although that is a possibility, I suggest you don't use it in Taijutsu based fights, as it tends to ruin the fun of the battle. It is merely there incase you wish to use it in Ninjutsu battles, and remains an option.
Onto the next technique:
"Begin by moulding your riation chakra and concentrating it to your hands. Release the chakra as a wave of lightning that protrudes outwards. It should be powerful enough to rip through solid rock, as well as serving to possibly augment the strength of a water style technique."
