Actually your bias makes you more likely to get offended when someone doesn't trust a cop, as shown above. You don't need a cop in your family to understand a cop's point of view, they talk to people all the time. (For the record my uncle is the commander of all of Indiana's state police.) Oaths are easily broken. They're just words to most people nowadays.
All words nowadays are filled with emptiness, I guess that just depends on the person then doesn't it? You think you can understand a cops points of view just by talking to him? Wrong, they talk to people because people are incapable of solving their problems so they call them to fix it for them. They don't actually understand how to resolve the issue. Its like a lecture in class, all of this information is pouring into you at once but if you don't study it and live with it everyday, you will simply never understand it to its full capacity. Same applies for a cop, I promise you their are things I know that are oblivious to you. How do I know this? Every single person whether its a friend peer or cousin that asks about what its like give me that information when the react to it. Sate police? so trafficking? lol no offense man, but you really have no idea then. I actually only get offended when someone makes a claim saying that basically indicates that a "civilian can do a cops job better than a cop" or "we don't cops" something along those lines. Only an incompetent fool would do this and yes, that's what triggered it this time.

If nobody in your family is a police officer you actually don't understand both points of view a gun. Never said take them away, I simply was stating I would feel more comfortable having a cop with his gun drawn than the average individual that you don't know. At least you know some kind of oath was taken in the hands of the cop.
All I will say is: Niggas aint touchin my guns U_U

I think, based on the evidence that has been publicized, he's guilty. But I don't think that we should ***** that he got off. Thats simply the reality of our justice system. We can ***** about it, or we can tackle the root problems, which are

a) The subtle racism that has become popular ("oh I'm not racist, I just hate n******" is one of the most disgusting mindsets you can have)

b) Our justice system, like everything else in America, is inherently flawed and needs to be improved without infringing on our rights and freedoms.

What evidence are you referring? I'm curious, because as far as I'm aware, none exists -- and I have done extensive research on the case.

Ok, some here clearly aren't too bright. He wasn't found "Not Guilty" for killing Treyvon. The evidence is all there that he DID kill Treyvon and that's not what the whole trial was about. The trial was about whether George's actions were that of a murderous intent or self defense. There was zero proof that it was a murderous intent and there was proof left and right that it was self defense.

I personally would stand up for George. Whether he did it intently or for self defense, the evidence was he did it to protect himself.

Now tell me, if you were threatened by another man and you were to somehow kill that man to save your own life, do you feel like you should deserve a life sentence in jail? The fact you have to live with yourself is bad enough, but add the sentence and I just wouldn't want to live anymore.

I wish I had seen this thread earlier. Watch this video, it states exactly what happened according to official evidence/testimonies and explains the law. Don't be scared that it's 35 minutes.

10:40 to 23:35 is the important stuff. Everything else is background info and statistics. Get ready to be properly informed.

Based on all the evidence in the case, there wasn't really any chance of him getting convicted. All the evidence pointed towards self-defense.

The prosecutors (and the media) tried to make it out to be a racially-motivated killing. But while racism and civil rights are certainly something this country still needs to work on, it never had any place in this case.

That said, should it have happened? No. Trayvon should've run home instead of returning 4 minutes later to attack Zimmerman. That was the first crime that occurred that night.
