Double False Surroundings

Performance

Sasuke stands mid range from a clone and does a series of three hand seals. In doing this, he makes the clone see an illusion of a ring of lava flowing around his current position, trapping him in one spot. If he manages to break this illusion, it would automatically start the next, which would turn the lava ring into a ring of lava geysers. Similar enough that he may dispel his theory of genjutsu, but different enough for it to work.

Utilization

I really like the sound of this one, because if you do what I did in the example above, and make two very similar illusions, your opponent may think that something else was going on and they were never under a genjutsu anyway, when they would, in fact, still be under the illusion.

Reality Check

With this technique, it is hard to give a definite indicator that this is an illusion. Depending on what the user uses as the illusion, you would have to be able to tell the difference between that and what should be the normal terrain. Then after that, you would have to see enough wrong with the illusion to realize that you are still under the technique
________________________________________________

Willow

Performance

Sasuke draws his katana from its sheath and begins swinging it like a pendulum. Back and forth. He does this until he notices the clone glance at the blade. And with that, the illusion is set into place. The clone would see Sasuke's arms begin to multiply out of control. Ten, twenty, fourty.. it would be enough for a normal person to lose track. While he is seeing this, Sasuke would sprint into close range of the clone and deliver an upward slash across its chest.

Utilization

I would use this technique only in situations that I was already using a sword. This is mainly because I would want the battle to appear to be as fluid as possible, so if pull out a sword and start swinging it around, my opponent will know something is up before I am even able to put them under the illusion.

Reality Check

The multiplying arms are a good indicator of this being an illusion. As far as I know, there are no techniques or clans that cause extra limb growth (well, other than chakra arms), so this should be an immediate red flag to anyone seeing it.
________________________________________________

String Bean Binding Illusion

Performance

Sasuke weaves the Dog → Hare → Snake → Ram hand seal series to place the clone under an illusion. The clone would see vines begin to grow from the ground beneath them. The vines would grow up the legs of the clone, and start to wrap around his torso as it lifts him into the air. Or this is what he would see, while standing catatonic. At this point Sasuke would begin to charge in with a chidori charged. The clone would see a pea pod appear as Sasuke encloses, and once it opens, Sasuke would appear to jump through, impaling the trapped clone with his lightning blade.

Utilization

I would use this technique to stall my opponent while I used a short ranged technique. When using something like the chidori, one must be weary of blindly charging their opponent. But if this technique were used first, your movements would be concealed, allowing safe passage

Reality Check

To my knowledge there are no techniques that allow one to control vines (other than wood style users maybe, which are extremely rare), so as soon as my opponent started controlling vines, I would immediately think that this is an illusion.

Keep in mind that your character doesn't know everything... Arm multiplication/vine manipulation isn't necessarily impossible.

( Magen: Hanarasui ) - Demonic Illusion: Flower Head Death
Rank: B
Type: Offensive/Supplementary
Range: Short- Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40 due to stress on the mind
Description: The user will trap the target within an illusion where the opponent appears to be trapped in a large flower bud which then explodes. The opponent is made to believe that an explosion actually occurred and collapses, believing himself to be injured. The resulting stress on his mind causes damage.

Basic illusion - make them believe they are in a flower bud (sight, touch, scent, etc.), and then cause the bud to explode. The illusion is so realistic, there is mental strain on your target which provides true damage onto them, and causes them to physically collapse.

( Magen: Jubaku Satsu ) - Demonic Illusion: Tree Binding Death
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes five handseals, and appears to dissolve into a mist. Once they stealthily approach the target and get within short-range, the opponent feels completely immobilized, and believes they have been bound by a fast-growing tree and are unable to move. The user then appears as if they emerge from the tree to attack the target. In reality, the target is immobilized, allowing the user to strike or interrogate them.

Begin with five hanseals, and then cause your opponent to see you dissolve into a mist. Then, within the illusion, you are invisible and can move closer to them. Using your ability with genjutsu, cause your opponent to feel a tree growing up and around them, utilizing sight, sound, etc. as well. Trapped by the tree, because your opponent feels the tree around them and their body believes it can't move, they see you appear behind them, from within the tree, to strike.

( Genjutsu: Oshitsubusu Hebi Kubire ) - Illusion Technique: Crushing Snake Constriction
Rank: B
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user puts the opponent into a genjutsu which has snakes appear beneath the opponent to constrict them and with the users command, they crush the opponent. In reality, the opponent is immobilized and takes damage due to the stress on his mind.

Simple illusion, cause your opponent to feel a snake slither up their body, constricting them and holding them still (of course, include sight as well. sound can also be added). Then, cause your opponent to feel the "holding" of the snake to become tighter, actually causing strain on the mind and creating some true damage.

Flower Head Death

Performance

Sasuke stands short range from a clone and infuses its brain with his chakra. The chakra immediately starts to work on the different parts, and places the clone under the illusion that they are trapped in a flower. As they looked around their body, they would see it all; stems leaves, petals, and more. They would be able to feel the softness of the bud around their head, as well as the ability to smell the sweet scent that it gives off. Shortly after being placed under the illusion, the bud would appear to explode, causing the clone enough mental stress that they may actually collapse from the mental strain.

Utilization

When using this technique, I would take advantage of the mental stress that it causes in that I would try to use a fast acting jutsu to immediately follow the technique. I would do this because the mental stress may be enough to cause them to collapse, in which case, my next technique would be able to land with little to no resistance.

Reality Check

The entire main illusion of this technique is what I believe would tip my character off. There would be no explanation as to how my character ended up trapped in the bud of this giant flower. In order for that to happen, my character would have to allow the flower to grow over them, which I am assuming isn't part of the illusion.

Tree Binding Death

Performance

Sasuke weaves a series of 5 hand seals to place his opponent under an illusion. He would immediately see Sasuke's body dissolve in a mist cloud, before being able to see a tree growing under their feet and wrapping their legs, immobilizing them. In reality, after Sasuke placed them under the illusion, he immediately goes toward the clone to attempt hand to hand combat. The clone would see Sasuke emerge from the tree, as he encloses on them in reality, delivering a mighty kick to their head.

Utilization

Not having Taijutsu, I am always very weary about going in close range with someone. Usually, I would have nothing fast enough to counter if my opponent were to use it on me. But since I now have this technique, it allows me to move in that close without having to worry about it as much.

Reality Check

Considering that both of my bios are sensory types of some sort (custom sensor, and Sharingan), it wouldn't make complete sense that they completely disappeared when they dissolved in the mist, so my next conclusion would be that this is genjutsu.
____________________________________________

Crushing Snake Constriction

Performance

Standing mid range from his opponent, Sasuke infuses his chakra into his brain to place him under an illusion. While under this illusion, a snake would appear at their feet, which would proceed to slither up their body, wrapping them as they went. All of the clones senses would be in on this; sight, sound, and touch would be most prevalent though. After their body is completely wrapped, the snake would begin to squeeze their body, crushing them. In reality, they would only be immobilized, and may undergo mental stress if the snake is able to crush them.

Utilization

Because this immobilizes my opponent while standing, I think I would like to use this in conjunction with the Antillion technique. This is because, while my opponent is immobilized, they would not be able to react to the whirlpool of earth that forms beneath them. Hopefully, this would lead to them being sucked in an crushed.

Reality Check

Considering the popularity of Snake summons, it is really hard to see anything blatantly wrong with this picture as it would happen. This means that I might be forced to use my Sharingan or chakra sensing abilities to be able to tell. However, if there was one thing that didn't make sense, it would be how the snake just appears at my feet. It wasn't summoned, and it didn't come through the ground, it was just there all of a sudden. Depending on how my opponent words this, I may be able to use that to tell.

( Genjutsu: Hanaoka ) - Illusion Technique: Flower Hill
Rank: B
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user summons up illusionary purple flowers from the ground in front of them, damaging enemies with a chance to paralyze them.
Note: Paralysis lasts one turn.

This is a really strange genjutsu from a game. It literally causes illusionary flowers to seem to grow from the ground - which then do nothing more than sit as regular-sized flowers - and jams up the opponent's brain so that it can't tell the body to move. It stops motion for no reason, and the brain damages itself trying to figure out why it can't move (I'm grasping at straws to figure out why it does damage). To be perfectly honest, this is a very stupid genjutsu, but it's "cannon", so....

( Magen: Chō Shinka ) - Demonic Illusion: Butterfly Evolution
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary/Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: The user makes one handseal, placing the opponent in a genjutsu. The user then tosses a large number of explosive tags at the opponent. To the opponent, it looks as if they are countless butterflies. The opponent then believes they are sinking into the ground, in reality making them immobilized; this allows the user to place one final exploding tag on their forehead before detonating all the tags simultaneously.

So, one handseal, and then use your chakra to make your opponent believe that an explosive tag appears like a butterfly. Then, you may throw explosion tags, which look like butterflies, into the air. The genjutsu then takes further effect and the opponent feels like the ground beneath them is sinking, trapping their mind in a hole without any means to move about (of course, this is an illusion, but because the brain believes it, the body follows). You then need to walk up and physically place an explosive tag on their forehead, taking a step back to cause them all to detonate and end the technique.

Before I start this monstrosity of a reply, let me just say that I completely agree with you on all accounts. This one makes little sense, logically, but here goes nothing.

Performance

Sasuke stands mid range from a clone and infuses his chakra into his brain. He would manipulate his chakra so that his opponent would fall under an illusion. While under this, the clone would see purple flowers sprout from the ground in front of him. Then it attacks his motor function, making it to where he couldn't move a muscle. This would cause a lot of mental stress, enough so that the clone would suffer damage from it.

Utilization

I would use this technique to counter someone using a close range technique. This is mainly because I would then be at extremely close range, and could deliver a final blow. After all, the move count would be this jutsu, my opponents way of breaking it, my jutsu being released in their face. There isn't very many techniques fast enough to counter something like this.

Reality Check

Well, I would find it hard to believe that flowers magically just sprout in their adult stages, so that would tell me then that something was right. Next, I would be paralyzed, so then that would confirm that I would be under genjutsu.

Butterfly Evolution

Performance

Sasuke stands mid range from his opponent, and performs one hand seal to infuse his chakra into his brain and place him under an illusion. He would then throws over a dozen explosive tags at the enemy, knowing that while under his illusion, they would see butterflies instead of what they really were. In the next part of the illusion, the clone would feel themselves sinking into the earth, trapping their legs to prohibit movement. Sasuke would then sprint to them and place a final tag on their forehead, before jumping back to mid range as the tags begin to explode, trapping his opponent in a flurry of explosions that would encompass a large area.

Utilization

I've been waiting for this one, in my opinion, it is the bread and butter of regular genjutsu. Because of its effects, it can be used as a starting move, distraction to make time for another technique, finishing move, and so on. You could utilize the paralysis before placing the tag. The possibilities are endless.

Reality Check

The first thing I would find myself thinking once I seen my opponent throwing a bunch of butterflies at me is "what the Hell?". In other words, I would already think something was off. Next, after a delayed time of starting the technique, I would randomly begin sinking.. For no apparent reason.. This would be enough to tip me off that this is an illusion.

Bear in mind that doton has the potential lower you into the ground. However, the butterfly portion is a fairly decent give-away.

( Nehan Shōja no Jutsu ) - Temple of Nirvana Technique
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes one handseal, placing all the targets in the area under an illusion where feathers appear to fall from the sky. This slowly puts the opponents to sleep after one turn.

A technique I believe should be extended all the way into long-range, this is an illusion using a single handseal to assault the mind powerfully. You affect the optic nerve, causing the opponent to both see and feel feathers falling from the sky. If these feathers fall around and on your opponent long enough (ie. they go a turn without breaking the illusion), your chakra overwhelms all of the areas of their brain to a point where they "shut down", entering a semi-conscious state otherwise known as sleep. This illusion affects anyone and everyone within mid-range of you, regardless if you are aware they are there or not, as it's more of a "release chakra into a sphere around yourself and it enters the minds of all it touches" type illusion. It's a beautiful technique, especially if you can cover up the feathers (a bird summon, or visually obstructing techniques), or keep your opponent from using kai.
Fun Fact: My favorite moment with this illusion was Shikamaru, who broke the illusion placed on him yet chose to sleep anyway.

( Kokuangyo no Jutsu ) - Bringer-of-Darkness Technique
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes one handseal, causing the opponent to believe they have been trapped in a world of infinite darkness, where their sense of sight is useless. It is capable of affecting multiple targets within range. However, it does not negate their other senses.

Okay, this is your final technique. With a single handseal, you release your chakra into multiple targets in order to simply block their optic nerve from communicating with their brain. This illusion takes away a person's sight, and that's basically all there is to it. It can affect multiple targets, but unlike Temple of Nirvana you must consciously target each person (the reason I believe Temple of Nirvana is omniencompassing is because it's induced with the illusionary feathers which spawn everywhere, and furthermore was used to affect a very large number of people in a very large area, and as such I don't believe Kabuto could have possible intentionally targeted every single individual person in the arena).

Temple of Nirvana

Performance

Sasuke stands mid range from a clone, and forms one hand seal to channel his chakra into the clones brain. His chakra would react in the clones mind to the effect that it would cause him to see a cloud of feathers all around him. His chakra would also affect the nerves so that if any were to touch the clone, they would feel it. All the while, his chakra would also be working on releasing melatonin, to cause the clone to nod off into a sleeping state.

Utilization

Considering Sasuke comes with auto Hawk summons, I would use this technique in a combination attempt. I would have my summon dive bomb at the opponent, and when they counter, I would place them under this illusion. That would explain the feathers, so they would have no reason to suspect that they are under genjutsu, and should fall asleep accordingly.

Reality Check

The only way to tell that this is an illusion would be if there was no explanation as to how the feathers started falling. If that were the case, then it would be simple. Otherwise, you would have to notice yourself getting extremely tired, which wouldn't be unbelievable given you would be fighting, until it had already affected your performance. This is a very well rounded technique

Bringer-of-Darkness

Performance

Sasuke stands mid range from a clone, and performs a single hand seal to send his chakra into his opponents brain, placing him under an illusion. His chakra would serve to disconnect the reception of the information delivered by the optic nerve, causing the clone to go totally blind.

Utilization

I would use this technique with the similar lightning technique. This is because if my opponent breaks this, they would still believe they are under an illusion, and try to break it again. But this time, it wouldn't work. Instead, it would waste enough time for me to strike fast and hard.

Reality Check

Given that you would go from complete sight to complete darkness in an instant, with no apparent cause, the mere entrance into this illusion would be enough to determine that you are under genjutsu.

Just something confusing to add before I can give you the go-ahead:
You can't force your opponent's brain to release melatonin. All you can do is trick it into a condition where it believes melatonin needs to be release, causing the procedure to occur naturally. Forcing the release falls under MedJutsu.

Now, if you have no other questions about the techniques or any aspects of genjutsu (please, if you have any questions about genjutsu, I'm about second-tier when it comes to knowledge, so ask them now), we are done. here.

Wow that is actually a lot deeper than I thought, I'm glad you told me. I believe I understand. I do have one question about the Genjutsu overall though, generally how fast are they? Relative to the speed of my chakra going from my body to their brain?

Other than that, I believe I understand everything well.

Instantaneous. The chakra has no "travel time", otherwise sensors and dojutsu users would see the chakra moving towards them and would never be caught within an illusion. So as soon as you finish the handseals or "cast the illusion", it takes place.

That's the way I thought it worked, but I didn't want to depend on anything being instant Without finding out for sure. That answers all of my questions! Thank you so very much for the training!
