. If you think we should start from scratch I'm OK with that as I think I could use some memory refreshing. Hmm, OK let's see. A ninja was a covert agent or mercenary in feudal Japan who specialized in unorthodox warfare. The functions of the ninja included espionage, sabotage, infiltration, and assassination, and open combat in certain situations. A ninja in the narutoverse is called a shinobi and they come from different villages and clans. They are usually peaceful and they go to missions. They avoid battle unless in danger and in war times they stand together to defend their villages. Each shinobi possesses chakra. Chakra is a mixture of physical and spiritual energies which is essential for every technique. There are 361 chakra points throughout our body and they form the chakra circulatory system. With the will of the user, chakra can be manipulated and together with handseals, used in order to perform techniques also called jutsus. A usual term for those jutsus in general is ninjutsu. Ninjutsu techniques are performed by molding our physical and spiritual energies into chakra and then by manipulating the same. Depending on the rank and difficulty to perform the jutsu, some require handseals. There are 12 different handseals and a good shinobi should be able to perform them fast and accurately if he wants to survive in the battlefield. There are also 5 basic elements and elemental jutsus can be performed when a shinobi learns how to unlock the elemental chakra. Adding elemental chakra to his techniques makes them much stronger and more devastating. A user can also use his chakra to create illusions which is a very powerful tool in battles. Genjutsu are illusionary techniques performed by the best shinobis in the shinobi world. One of the best genjutsu users was Uchiha Itachi. Genjutsu is performed by releasing our chakra and channeling it into our victims brain and then by manipulating his chakra flow we create illusions which can also cause physical pain. Taijutsu techniques in the other hand are completely different from genjutsu techniques. They concentrate on the users physical power and they utilize by using martial arts in order to deal fatal wounds to our enemies by our bare hands and legs. Taijutsu usually doesn't require chakra nor handseals and that's why they are very quick attacks ideal for close combat. Fuuinjutsu techniques are sealing techniques that use seals in form of a paper and they are able to seal objects, living beings, chakra, along with a wide variety of other things within another object.
I'm sure I won't need to bug you, hun.
Wow I never thought that my hun was this smart. U_U Now I'm much smarter too. I have no further questions.Very good!!! Now, as my PS however, i'll give you a bit more depth in the overal concepts. Although not needed, it may help you exploint some minor things in battles as well as help you make custom techniques with more purpose and ease.
±± Ninja ±±
A ninja is someone who uses their full abilities in the service of his/hers beliefs, working to achieve a goal. This goal can be anything from peace to war, money, destruction, personal griefs or even revenge and can be shared with others or individual. Most ninjas are fighters and correspond to the bulk of the military force of the great nations. However, a ninja doesn't need to be a fighter. Even medics or a simple carpenter may, in times of need, use his abilities (medical knowledge or abilities in working with wood for example) to accomplish the goals he set to himself, following his beliefs.
±± Chakra ±±
Chakra is the energy that is formed through the passive combination of both the Physical and the Spiritual energies in a sentient being (every living being with a conscious mind has chakra). Physical energy corresponds to the vitality of the body and its own energy. Spiritual energy corresponds to the mind or spirit, and comes from the awareness and "soul" of each sentient being.
Some ninjas have high levels of chakra because they have great physical energy (like the Akimichi or even Tsunade) and others because of their spiritual energy (like the Uchiha and the Yamanaka). However, its much more difficult to increase the spiritual energy than the physical one, thus why all ninjas pass through intensive physical workout.
Yin and Yang are based on this same concept. Yin is the basis of the spirit while Yang the basis of the body. In this i won't go into more dept because there are 2 things to consider: Yin/Yang manipulation in our RP is different from the manga one and both are more or less inacessible.
Chakra flows in a circulatory system inside your body, in a way that much resembles the blood circulation. This circulatory system has 8 small reservoirs that act as both storage but also chakra regulation. These are the eight inner gates. Along your circulatory system, small "portals" exist that enable you to expell chakra from your body. These are called Tenketsu and there are 361 of them scattered allong the body. When a tenketsu opens, chakra poors out of it. Its by molding the chakra that comes out of the tenketsu that you produce ninjutsu and genjutsu.
±± Ninjutsu ±±
Ninjutsu, or Ninja Arts, is the ability to, through the use of chakra, accomplish tasks that would be otherwise impossible to do. Ninjutsu are done by 2 stepts: focusing your chakra and molding your chakra. Focusing is using your will power to "will" a portion of your chakra to do something. On the other hand, molding is giving your chakra a set of characteristics that will enable you to produce the desired end effect.
Think of the chakra flow as our breathing. Normally, it happens passively, without any conscious intervention. However, when you need to you can use your will to control it. Its the same with your chakra flow. Its happens normally without your consicious intervention. However, you can focus your chakra and make it produce something.
Now, molding the chakra is done by two basic principles: Shape Manipulation and Nature Transformation. These correspond to the two broad areas that one needs to change in the chakra to produce a jutsu. Shape manipulation pertains to the ability to give your chakra a desired form while Nature transformation pertains to the ability to give your chakra a desired set of characteristics/properties. Sometimes, to better mold chakra, ninja use Handseals. Handseals are simply hand gestures that allow the ninja to more easily concentrate and mold the chakra into the desired technique.
±± Genjutsu ±±
Genjutsu, or Illusionary Arts, unlike ninjutsu, don't produce a real, palpable, feasible effect; it produces an illusionary effect. With a specific KG however, the illusions can become so strong that the body will be fooled into mimicking in real life the fake effects its perceiving through the illusion. There exists two types of Genjutsu: the passive, non chakra fueled ones (basically illusions to our senses like visual paradoxes and such which have little use in the RP and can be easily overcome through experience and logic) and the active, chakra fueled ones. Within the active chakra fueled ones two subtypes exist: Dojutsu induced Genjutsu and Normal Genjutsu.
Genjutsu works by using chakra to disturb the chakra flow of the opponent, specially in the brain, altering his senses. By doing this you can make him perceive any thing his senses are capable of: pain, heat, cold, tickles, iching, etc etc. A ninja can make the opponent taste, smell, feel, see or hear anything he wants. However, because this is done by using your chakra to manipulate his chakra flow, the ninja needs to be close or, many times, have direct eye contact or even physical contact. This is the main limitation of Genjutsu: range. The further you are away from your opponent, the harder it is to induce the fluctuation on his chakra flow to produce the genjutsu.
How exactly does it work? Well, every one has a balanced chakra flow. The chakra flows in a balanced combination of both physical and spiritual energies. The ratio between them vary from person to person (that is how each person has a different chakra signature) but its always calm and balanced. To produce a genjutsu, a ninja uses his chakra to disturb that balance in a controlled way. This is done in a similar way to ninjutsu, throught both focusing and molding chakra. A fluctuation is then created in the targets chakra "wave length" and makes it fluctuate in a given way. This produces the illusion by scrambling the users link between his Spirit and his Body which effectively is the link between his mind and his senses. To make your chakra be capable of doing the correct fluctuation, you need to use, most of the times, handseals. These help you mold and shape and focus your chakra to the correct wave length you want to induce, thus enabling you to use it to disturb the targets chakra flow.
±± Taijutsu ±±
Taijutsu is basically Hand to Hand combat. Its composed of several disciplines and arts, the most used of which is called Strong Fist. Other types include for example, Gentle Fist. Taijutsu uses the body as a weapon to attack or defend against your enemy. Its powered by chakra but in a different way than Ninjutsu or Genjutsu, as you don't need to mold chakra to perform Taijutsu (as seen in Rock Lee's case). Chakra in Taijutsu acts as the fuel, powering the body through its moves, specially in terms of Physical energy. The main characteristic of Taijutsu is that it can be combined with several other areas of a ninja's arsenal, such as Kenjutsu or Ninjutsu (in this case producing Nintaijutsu). This makes Taijutsu the basic skill every ninja has to have.
Taijutsu can be advanced through mastery of the Eigh Inner Gates. These are "limiters" that exist within the chakra circulatory system and that regulate and limit the chakra output, keeping it at safe levels, thus keeping the body safe. Through intense training and skill, a ninja can unlock them gaining access to increased chakra output and, through that, increased physical power. However, doing so damages the body and may even lead to death.
±± Fuuinjutsu or Sealing Arts ±±
Fuuinjutsu or Sealing Arts, are a type of Jutsu that seals chakra, living beings, objects, energy, etc whithin another object through the use of kanji codes/spells.
Fuuinjutsu may vary greatly but most obey the same basic principle: You need a medium (living or not) in which was prepared the Kanji Codes/Inscriptions of the seal. You need to expend chakra to activate the seal and chakra to sustain it for a given amount of time. To release it, you must once again expend chakra to unlock the seal, while still needing the correct "key". The "key" is a variation of the technique only known to those who create it, thus disabling the probability of the seal being released by someone else; it can be a given set of handseals or even a DNA imprint (through a blood contract). However, even if most seals may work in this simple fashion, some more advanced seals work in many other ways. Even if you take into account that all seals must be triggered/fueled by chakra, they must all have a medium in which to seal away the target.
Because seals are fueled by chakra, they become weakened through time, as the chakra that was expended to create and maintain it, becomes consumed. Because of this, when sealing something in a living being, the seal is generally made to use the chakra from the being to sustain itself, delaying the eventual weakening.
Now dear, questions? ^^
Oh stop it... (please don't... Lol)Wow I never thought that my hun was this smart. U_U Now I'm much smarter too. I have no further questions.
*I begin by concentrating on my physical and spiritual energies and by gathering some chakra throughout my chakra flow; I concentrate and make sure to control it with my will and then I start releasing it and channeling into your brain; As it enters your brain I start focusing and molding my chakra in order to create a disruption in your own chakra flow in a controlled way so that your brain tricks your eyes into seeing a wall infront of you*Oh stop it... (please don't... Lol)
Now, first step in genjutsu is to induce it. I want you to try and use your chakra to disturb mine, making me see a wall in front of me. You need to make sure to will your chakra to do it by Focusing and Molding it into my mind.
*waits to see a wall*
*A wall appears in my eyesight**I begin by concentrating on my physical and spiritual energies and by gathering some chakra throughout my chakra flow; I concentrate and make sure to control it with my will and then I start releasing it and channeling into your brain; As it enters your brain I start focusing and molding my chakra in order to create a disruption in your own chakra flow in a controlled way so that your brain tricks your eyes into seeing a wall infront of you*
Great! Well, I could for example block my enemies vision by creating the same wall I created right now. That would give me a short period of time to make a jutsu behind that wall while my enemy is trying to escape the genjutsu and by the time he manages to escape my jutsu would probably kill him. :S*A wall appears in my eyesight*
What trickery is this!? I mean...oh... yeah...Well done pupil, well done!
Now, with this simple method you can make your opponent see anything you want basically, as long as he's in range of the technique itself. Tell me, how can that be used to your advantage in battle?
Btw, the technique you just learned is this:
(Genjutsu: Kokohin) - Illusion Technique: False surrounding
Rank: D
Type:Supplementary
Range:Short
Chakra Cost:10(+5 if you use it double)
Damage Points:N/A
Description: The user controls creates a false surrounding which can change the way an object or small area looks(if used double then its a layer of false surroundings not easy noticed by the enemy).
Hum, simple use yeah. Can be used like that but we can also take it a bit further. Tell me, what do you think is the best thing of creating an illusion and using illusions? I mean, the best approach?Great! Well, I could for example block my enemies vision by creating the same wall I created right now. That would give me a short period of time to make a jutsu behind that wall while my enemy is trying to escape the genjutsu and by the time he manages to escape my jutsu would probably kill him. :S
Well, I could completely disrupt my enemies chakra to take control over him and manipulate him into, for example, taking a kunai out of his pouch and wounding himself. :shrug:Hum, simple use yeah. Can be used like that but we can also take it a bit further. Tell me, what do you think is the best thing of creating an illusion and using illusions? I mean, the best approach?
(In genjutsu 90% of training is getting you to understand the essence behind its use and not actually going through the techniques)
Nope. That can only be done with body possession techniques like the yamanaka clan uses, not Genjutsu, although this brings a point i need to explain.Well, I could completely disrupt my enemies chakra to take control over him and manipulate him into, for example, taking a kunai out of his pouch and wounding himself.
I don't mind. I never had a training like that, and I really like this way of training. I actually learn things. Now I got a completely different concept and view on genjutsu. If you don't have anything to add, we can proceed.Nope. That can only be done with body possession techniques like the yamanaka clan uses, not Genjutsu, although this brings a point i need to explain.
With Genjutsu you make your opponent see or feel something through his senses. However, he is free to react to his own accord. For example, you make him see a fire ball coming towards him. Its his choice to use water or wind or wtv to block. Basically, you put the situation in front of him but he can react through logic in his own way.
Now this is were Genjutsu becomes a mind game. Your job when using gen is to make sure the gen is as close to reality as possible. Unless your opponent can figure out its a genjutsu, he will be unlikely to produce a valid counter. He needs to reason with logic why he believed its a genjutsu and thus released from it.
Now, this is the core of genjutsu use which leads us to the technique at hand. With this technique you can make your opponent see anything you want. For example, you make a fire ball and make him see as if it was a mud ball. You make him see the battle field as if nothing is wrong yet you fill it with spikes.
Its all about trickery. The most effective use of genjutsu is to camouflage your real actions and moves, so that the opponent can't know what is going to hit him and thus, can't defend from it.
this genjutsu in particular, although quite simple and low rank, is the superb pinnacle of what genjutsu can really do if we put our minds into it, more even if we think its a D-Rank genjutsu.
Questions? ^^ (i ramble a lot lolol)
Good! ^^I don't mind. I never had a training like that, and I really like this way of training. I actually learn things. Now I got a completely different concept and view on genjutsu. If you don't have anything to add, we can proceed.
I know that you can dispel a Genjutsu with Kai. It works simply by stopping our own chakra flow and by adding and even stronger force to disrupt the flow of the caster's chakra. It can also be done through intense pain by, for example, stabbing ourself with a kunai although that is a bad idea because we would probably weaken and bleed out before the end of the battle. A third person could also waken us up from a genjutsu by disrupting our chakra flow with his own chakra. Sharingan users are held for one of the best genjutsu users so therefore they can easily see through a genjutsu. Skilled jinchuriki users can also break a genjutsu if cooperating with their tailed beasts. Weak illusions to our senses can be overcome by experience and simple logic.Good! ^^
Now, answer me the following:
-How can you dispel or release from a Genjutsu? Why?
-How long do you think a Genjutsu lasts?
-Can you cast a Genjutsu on yourself? Why?
^^
You got the basis done but i can't let you go with just that can i? ^^I know that you can dispel a Genjutsu with Kai. A genjutsu lasts as long as the caster doesn't end the genjutsu or as long as the victim doesn't break out of it, as far as I know.
Well yeah, I guess I could but I think that my brain would be aware that I casted a genjutsu on myself and that what I see/feel/hear is not real.
Ok, for the first one I start gathering my chakra and I start channeling into my opponents brain in order to disrupt his chakra flow. Once my chakra enters his brain, I do a single handseal which makes my chakra disrupt his chakra flow. As that happens I disappear from his sight leaving a whirlwind of sakura petals behind me.Now, for the next ones we will do this slightly different. For each technique i want you to post the following information:
-Brief description of how you perform the technique
-How can the technique be used in battle (combos with other moves/skils, creative use, etc)
-Limitations of the technique
-How to counter it
Ok! first batch:
You make one handseal (if i'm not mistaken) and you vanish in a whirwind of sakura petals. You vanish from your opponents sight...not in reality off course.
(Genjutsu: Kahen Tonsou) - Illusion Technique: Flower Petal Escape
Rank: D
Type:Supplementary
Range:Short
Chakra Cost:10
Damage Points:N/A
Description: The user vanishes in a whirlwind of sakura petals.
Basically you throw a paper bomb at your opponent but what he'll see is a servent (a lackey, a familiar, etc etc). Once the bomb is in range it will activate and boom! (not a good illusion if you ask me but it still has its uses)
(Genjutsu: Kasumi) - Illusion Technique: Servant
Rank: D
Type:Supplementary
Range:Short
Chakra Cost:10
Damage Points:20
Description: An illusionary servant that is really a paper bomb that once in range of the opponent will explode.
Ok, for the first one I start gathering my chakra and I start channeling into my opponents brain in order to disrupt his chakra flow. Once my chakra enters his brain, I do a single handseal which makes my chakra disrupt his chakra flow. As that happens I disappear from his sight leaving a whirlwind of sakura petals behind me.
This jutsu is very good because once I disappear from his sight I can, either, charge on my opponent and start a close combat fight and catch him off guard or I can use an elemental jutsu to, eventually, kill him.
As for the limitations, skilled genjutsu users would see through this jutsu because it's very weak and same goes for sharingan users. Also a limitation is it's range.
I guess that I could counter this jutsu with experience and logic, because it's impossible to just vanish from the battlefield I'd presume that it's a genjutsu.
For the second one, I'd start gathering chakra and channeling it into my opponents brain. Once I disturb his chakra flow I'd throw a paper bomb at him, and due to his disturbed chakra flow he'd see a servant. Once the paper bomb/servant comes close enough to him it'd explode, wounding him.You must be registered for see images
This jutsu could be good for distraction and as a decoy. Example, first I use this jutsu and throw a paper bomb. By the time my opponent releases or sees through the genjutsu and tries to evade my bomb I could use an other jutsu to kill him.
Same as the previous jutsu, it could be countered with experience and logic. Sharingan users would be immune to this jutsu and it's limitations are the range and rank.
