Genjutsu underated and barely used???

I wouldn't be so sure about that. With the bijuus captivated and partially sealed by chibaku tensei, Naruto is limited to their chakra and only basic strength to repel against a genjutsu.(an uchiha genjutsu at that one) Yes he still had the other half of Kurama to help, but that wouldn't be enough to fight off the rinnegan's power at that level.

What proof do you have of this? We haven't seen Naruto and Kurama post opening of 8 trigrams seal get done by any genjutsu... So you can't just say that Rinnegan genjutsu can wreck Naruto and Kurama simply because it is RINNEGAN genjutsu!!!!

Providing greater context to the situation.

Itachi knows and Kisame notes what using the Mangekyou sharingan does to the users eyes and how much chakra is consumes. Itachi used it on Kakashi to end the fight as quickly as possible, at the cost of his eyesight. Imagine if Itachi didn't use tsukiyomi (3 secs) when he did.

Gai would've shown up. Itachi and Gai would've been outnumbered and outmatched and their plan (get intel on Naruto/let Danzo know he was still alive) would've been ruined. Itachi and Kisame are bingo book criminals. Meaning Kakashi and company wouldn't have pulled their punches in the fight.

I'm aware of this info... Itachi uses Tsukuyomi on Kakashi to avoid a fight and then he ditches. Not sure why further context was needed past this.

As far as I see it, the rinnegan jutsu that Sasuke displayed is far superior to all other genjutsu because of the genjutsu he put all bijuus in. Just look at the panel I had labeled in original post....even Hagaromo praised Sasuke's activity....

Itachi wouldn't have killed Kakashi unless he ABSOLUTELY had to, hence why he only used Tsukuyomi and then dipset on outta there. After all, he always had his brother and the village's safety in his best interest. Raikage example there is no proof they are making eye contact however I do agree with the Hashi - Madara example but not the Naruto one. Nardo has supreme genjutsu resistance with Bijuu and RSM, why do you think Nardo was never attacked with genjutsu in their whole fight? I do agree genjutsu is broken as hell and under rated though.

Sidenote: Bee is a jin so he has genjutsu resistance, so his bijuu is able to break him out of alot of genjutsu since they have good cooperation.

Genjutsu does work on Jin, it's just that the Bijuu saves them. When Bee was hit with Sasuke,and Itachi's Genjutsu, it took the Hachibi a few seconds to snap him out of it.

The same would happen with Naruto, and the Kyuubi if Sasuke used Genjutsu. And in those same few seconds, Sasuke could attack.

Think about it. Sasuke put all the Bijuu in Genjutsu, and CT with absolute ease at the same time then went on to use multiple other jutsu - Susano'o, Chidori, Amentejikara, Fire ball jutsu,and Bansho Tenin all without showing any sign of exhaustion.

Surely he could get the Yin Kyuubi in Naruto under Genjutsu. I don't see how the Yin Kyuubi alone could resist Sasuke's Rinnegan Genjutsu.

The only reason why genjutsu is op is because Kishi didn't take the time to explain it as well as he did ninjutsu and taijutsu.

All we really know is that genjutsu is yin, and it can be done through various mediums.

Genjutsu is an inherently overpowered ability. That's the reason we rarely see it. Add on the fact that most good genjutsu users are OP already (itachi,sasuke) it means they can have great fights without the need of genjutsu.

The only primary genjutsu user of note that i can think of is shisui, and the mere sight of him caused immediate withdraw orders..... thus adding to the genjustsu is OP argument.

I'm not saying he's bad at genjutsu. He has a sharingan, uchihas are naturally adept users of genjutsu. What I'm saying when weighed with other Uchihas he may be average. His forte is control as noted when he used his EMS consecutively.
