Well my arsenal doesnt consist of genjutsu because i havnt learnt it yet but ive been looking for a trainer almost ever,its useful because it can not only buy time but can also cause mental strain on a person making them mentally weaker during the fight,but id mostly use genjutsu in nbrp to buy time for fast instant killing techniques that can be made very quickly once the person is stuck in a genjutsu,yes genjutsu is very dangerous,once the skill levels of a person increase the person in a genjutsu may be completely unable to tell reality from illusion which is what makes genjutsus power all that greater when the illusion is just like reality,leaving the opponent completely wide open and easy to kill....

Basically i did not priorities Genjutsu when i first came onto the base and started training, i though more about elemental techniques though now i have realised it is possible a good idea to start out with nin-gen-tai training as elemental training is easier to get from sempai etc.
Now about genjutsu, it is used to mentally destroy or distract your opponent through the use of illusions. It seems simple but the slightest mistake in a genjutsu and it is easy to notice if it is real or fake where as sharingan can see through it. A high rank shinobi can make a genjutsu so powerful that it is impossible to break out of it, thus it is very dangerous. Genjutsu in all is used to distract, restrain and mentally take down your opponent though there are variations of genjutsu through sharingan and the unique ability of a lost clan (dont remember name) was capable of turning genjutsu into reality.
Now about genjutsu, it is used to mentally destroy or distract your opponent through the use of illusions. The clan you're looking for is the 'Kurama Clan'.
Good points, both of you. Genjutsu is, by a large majority of NB RP'ers, used simply to distract an opponent. A Genjutsu before one's actual attack is a great way to pressure your opponent.
What you've got to remember, however, is that Canon Genjutsu doesn't deal any damage. Sure, we've got Uchiha and Kurama members who can make it hurt, but for the rest of us? It's just illusions.
So, look through the jutsu list and, just for now, post what you think will be your 'favorite' illusion and tell me why.

i like this oe mostly because i use ym sword alot in battle,its pretty simple to execute and being a short range only by the time the opponent broke out he'd already be cut in half,i like it becauses it plays with the eyes and its just simply swaying your blade left to right,and being so close the second they look its all over ^^ thats my favourite genjutsu anyway

Standing short range of my opponent i draw my scythe and swing it at my side,i then begin to taunt my opponent causing him to being to lose his cool and get slightly mad,i then bring my scythe infront of my still swinging it from left to right,unknown to my opponent i begin putting him in a genjutsu with the swing of my blade,once completely entranced i draw five shuriken from and throw them as a distraction knowing that if my opponent counters the genjutsu he will have to dodge the shuriken first,so i quickly release my scythe in mid air and quickly make a snake hand seal and hold out my right hand firing a spear of lightning straight for my opponents heart killing him before he could even counter the shuriken

(Note that this is an idea and a genjutsu that i will use when learned and when i get my wood release bio out there)

With multiple hazy arms just appearing out of nowhere, I naturally get suspicious. Kai's quick and your non-ranked Shurikens are no match for my Atsugai. The Lightning and Wind would cancel each other out. And remember that you'd have to drop your weapon to do handseals. It's a rough world.
Let me give you a hint; 'waving' could also be a swing. Get closer; use your weapon for more than just the illusion.

It's a ballgame. According to the timeframe; you won't put me in an illusion before I've used my technique.
I like the concept though, but you reveal yourself by simply 'dissolving' in mist. It's an obvious reason to use Kai, or another form of release.
I'd suggest using the A-ranked Mokuton no Jutsu on a larger scale and block your opponents vision of you with it. More trees means that it's almost certain thet your opponent would be somewhat entangled when he's caught in the illusion and the blocked vision would mean he wouldn't see you 'dissolve'.

As I stand before my opponent, I release a large volume of my chakra into the ground surrounding my opponent, and while that happens I perform two quick hand seals activating my chakra and forcing a large dense forest to which covers an expansive area around both you and me and the trees blast out from everywhere on the battlefield. During the trees growing they will begin to imprison you, by grabbing you with the branches while I perform 5 consecutive hand seals, and as I begin to dissolve into mist from my feet and up, the trees grow so that you will lose sight of me just before I begin to dissolve. And while the trees are growing you will be put under the illusion that you are caught by the trees both in reality and in your head. And while you believe your still in the real world, I appear from the tree above you and slice your throat.

Better, yes ^^ Watch the bolded part though; it doesn't make your move better. It's just stuffing.
I like it. You finish kinda 'hmm'-ly though. Why would you close in on your opponent when he's trapped like this? The forest is A-ranked and explosive and he's immobilized both in his mind and physically. With this; you're in control. If you take the time to get close, and that'd take time considering the density of the forest, you give him time to react. Don't.
The bolded part is 'generic' description. Use it to your advantage. Do what you want instead of following that 'suggestion'.
Now; this is what we're doing. Pick your favorite, again, and pick your least-favorite (because you obviously love them all ^^).
And if one of the illusions make you go 'wut?'; ask.
Once again; ask yourselves why technique X is your least favorite and why technique Z is your favorite.

My least favourite would have to be ( Genjutsu: Kahen Tonsou ) - Illusion Technique: Flower Petal Escape
I dont like this technique mostly due to its utter obviousness,one second your standing there looking that your opponent and then he turns into flower petals?its just to obvious for ym fighting style,i prefere to use my genjutsu to truely make my opponent think he isnt in it,but using this technique i believe would just be a waste of the three techniques,as soon as my opponent turned to flower petals(being immortal) id immediately assume genjutsu and stab myself just to be safe,and because its such an obvious jutsu and im immortal stabbing myself wouldnt cause any serious battle problems so itd just be a safe thing to do,but i just dont like blantantly obvious jutsu like this one.
My favourite of those is Illusion technique: servant
I like this technique because id combine it with some form of accuall close jutsu,perhaps a lightning clone because of the added paralysation effect,id start by accually making the clone,this would add to the illusion,id then perform the handseal which traps them in the genjutsu and throw paper bomb,while my opponent accually believes my own clone is truely advancing id use Hidden mist Jutsu to hide both of our postions,while im using the mist my clone could circle around the opponent getting close to him or even behind him,if he broken the genjutsu he'd awake to a mist and a paper bomb,and by the time he used a jutsu to counter the paper bomb my clone would be ontop of him without his knowing

My favorite technique > ( Kasumi Jūsha no Jutsu ) - Mist Servant Technique
This technique is pretty interesting, after performing a single hand seal, this technique puts a person on the illusion that you have jutsu created a hand seal making a clone rush towards them, while in reality a paper bomb is approaching them. Now this seems to be more efficient than the one below, since it is a direct attack, and the opponent if in mid / short range will possible enter close combat if fooled well enough by this and the paper bomb will blow up severely injuring them.

Well first off I understand the principle of the jutsu which is basically to conceal your movements with this jutsu, though I am confused about it, because it seems like an easy technique you simply make the flower petals around you and the opponent ending up blocking their view, it is kinda boring in my opinion. It blocks the persons view though it doesn't do anything else really. Its difficult to explain, but I simply don't like the way this jutsu works......
